ok, this is gonna sound like a n00bish question, but how do i change resolutions in zdoom, and how to i get it to run in 32-bit colors?

(i tried adjusting the resolution in the command prompt when i launched zdoom and nothing changed).

You change the resolution in the 'set video mode' submenu in options - and you can't set it to 32 bit. ZDoom is strictly 8 bit paletted mode.
