How do you get TiMidity to work with PrBoom? I downloaded a bunch of patches into my Doom folder, but I don't hear any change in the background music. And yes, I made sure SDL_mixer.dll was in the folder as well.

Where did you download the patches from?
Anyways, make sure the timidity cfg file is within the same directory as Prboom. (It took me a while to get it to work but apparently you just have to place the entire patch files and data within the prboom directory as well)

Also, you might have to edit the line in timidity.cfg that points to the patches directory.

I downloaded the patches from this site. I got a configuration file, but It was called "goemon.cfg". It contained a lot of TiMidity patches, but I don't know how to make it point to the patches directory.

Here's my CFG file. I have it set up on this machine (Windows 98, Sound Blaster 16), but on another computer (Windows XP, onboard sound card) I had problems with TiMidity and resorted to the Windows Midi playback.
