Has anyone ever tried loading the wads for the various test versions of "Doom" (such as the one that only runs on a certain date) in JDoom?

Yes. Predictably, they don't work. Craaaaash. Maybe they'll be supported someday, when Hawthorne (jDoom/Doomsday 2.0) is finally released, with its plugin system and its intent to become a generic engine for running as many "2.5D" games as possible. :)

It shouldn't be terribly difficult to support the alpha Doom wads. Maybe one weekend when I'm bored I'll look into it.
