I'm trying to run a doom 1 wad, NJ_SOH, and with every port I get "text chunk is missing size of new string" constantly. It works fine under doom95, but for some reason, there's no music. When trying to run vanilla doom under dos box, I get PNAMES not found.

According to the link they gave you on the other thread, the wad you have may have been edited to work specifically with some version of Doom Legacy, and that could have something to do with the terminal errors. Give this one a try.

Doom95 (unlike the later versions of Doom for DOS) can't play back true MIDIs, only real MUS files (basically MIDIs with a different header.)
