What's a good Hexen/Heretic source port?

For Heretic, try Doom Legacy or JHeretic.
For HeXen, try out JHexen.

ZDoom works with Heretic (well, you will need the very latest version)

Zdoom 1.23 Hexen support is still very little. I use JHexen usualy, and the two mods made from it: Korax heritage and Korax heritage 2. They add some role-playing components to Hexen (like EXP, levels, more spells). check www.korax-heritage.com
