Skull Tag server problems

Recently I've been wanting to start a server, but all of the programs I use fail on me. I tried Zdaemon but couldn't get my servers to run, then moved on to skull tag and got:

W_getnumforname: play pal not found!

Then I tried Skull Tag server browser and every time I hit run server I got

SSB has stopped working

Then for some reason it decided to run, but the damn thing isn't on the server list! Now I'm really pissed and asking for help, so has anyone had these problems and know how to fix them? Or could you guys suggest a better DM port?

You can try Odamex, but it will have the exact same problems as the others.
