Hey all - hoping someone can point me in the right direction to fix this problem. It's probably something stoopid I'm doing, but I've done a few searches and can't find anyone with a similar problem!

I've just compiled prboom for Ubuntu (9.04), I've got prboom.wad and doom2.wad and a few misc. pwads from t'internet. Everything works fine except the monsters all appear as black shapes - all the same shape, and when they move, the shape just stays the same. It's as if the game's saying 'I don't know what this guy looks like, I'll just stick this shape here'.

In one pwad, I believe there were extra death animations added, so I see what the monster looks like when it dies, but in the other qwads the monsters just disappear when they die.

Anyone got any suggestions?

The sprites in the wads you are loading might not be displaying properly and interfering with the resources from the main doom2.wad. Just load one wad at a time and see which one causes problems.
