The other day I was playing a little with the gravity setting in ZDoom, with the intention of making the player jump higher. It worked, but I remember it feeling rather clumsy and lacking in fluidity. The player takes off the ground, hangs in the air for moment, and falls back down. It doesn't feel like he's jumping, it feels like he's momentarily floating. Is there any way to change this?
