How can I change the map? I'm looking at how to do this.

Sometimes a particular wad has several maps. or it starts on something other than map1.

I can't go into command line, because touching '~' does nothing, where as on windows it brings up the command line

The command line isn't the same thing as the console.

PrBoom+ does not have a console anyway.

Use the old-fashioned idclevXX cheat code. Like idclev27 to go to MAP27 in Doom II, or to E2M7 in Doom 1.
