I'm loving that titlepic, we'll go head and use it. Mind making a credits page as well? As for everything else I'll go head and put craigs on Map08, and just wish you all luck. Unforunately status on my map will be a little delayed as my dumbass friend caused a car accident and I got a little injured and such from it.

My and my buddy's had an accident some hours ago as well......we put a dumpster on fire by mistake and we had to dump it into the river to put it out. Though i guess getting hit by a car is worse.

Actually we didnt get hit by a car. The dumbass decided to take his eyes off the road for 5 seconds and we ended up going through a fence, 2 mailboxes, a gate, and then a big tree which just so happened to be the obstacle directly in front of my side(passenger) to which made our back end lift up 4 feet off the ground.

I'm glad you weren't badly hurt bloodskull, and I hope you recover quickly!
Is anyone working on MAP15? If not and if it's not too late I'd be happy to contribute, I just started today but hope to be able to finish it by the end of the week. It's going with the overrun base theme, this time back on Earth.

I'll go head and put you up on there Icecream. Just remember folks that the deadline is slated for January 14th for all maps to be submitted at a "finished state". After that we'll get our titlepics, credits, and hudbar all made and compiled and hopefully have this released by January 31st.

There's just one map slot left. I won't be using it. I had enough. Was fun, but one's enough. Phew. Now I am freeeeeee!

Note: I think the list at the first post has to be updated. Additup is out, Death-Destiny moved his MAP13 farther to MAP16, and now works on MAP12 too.

Death-Destiny, have you tested MAP16 properly??? Because if you said it has Spitters, it's very likely that the spawnees will all appear one over another, without ANY telefragging, neutralizing everything. It has to be MAP30 for the Spitter to work properly.

Damn nice shots guys I never thought this project would get this far.

Bloodskull good to hear youre ok I had like two car accidents myself since the day I got my drivers licence luckly I lived through both of them without getting injured.

That really sucks. But yeah I'm fine and everything. If we cant get someone to fill in the last remaining slots we'll group up some people to complete a map together.

I put in a secret teleporter that leads to a hidden Wolfenstein themed area where you can find the super shotgun and a yellow skull key which can be used much later on to get the BFG.

nice shots bloodskull, i like that "void"ish feeling(not the wad, the blankness). it looks really good. and craigs, make you wolfenstein area better than average, make it have height differences. im sick of flat flat flat wolfenstein levels. whatever, just an opinion.

I might do that, but it seems kind of pointless. The wolfenstein section is pretty short, and once you get the key and the ssg, there's really no point in revisiting it.

My most recent map is more or less complete.
Map12: The Soulscarred Universe
5707 linedefs
9691 sidedefs
5116 verticies
814 sectors
741 things

This map was designed to be fast and intense, though it has its difficult moments. I got about 35-40 minutes of gameplay on UV. It may seem pretty tough, but its probably easier than it seems at first, though HMP difficulty should scale it down enough if it's too hard.
Now that this is coming together, it looks like most of us made either subverted base or hell themed maps. Seems like our group had that unspoken ESP to make the theme consistent =)

I'll be glad to make a credits page once the project is complete and I know what to put on it =P. For now, I'll work on the graphics for the mapnames since people are posting them and I know more than just my own mapnames. Same for the .deh/.bex file.
As far as MAP16 goes, it's not a boss spawner map. I hate those. It's just obnoxiously hard so as to have that "last level" feel to it.
@Bloodskull: Glad you're not severely injured from your crash. =)

Jesus Destiny you're contributing like 3 maps to the project? Get those finished up and I'll take a look at em and hopefully we'll figure out what to do about the final map. Maybe have it where everyone involved makes one single map and takes turn at each room much like the ZDCP and we'll theme it at E1/E2/E3/E4 style in celebration of Doom's birthday if you all think it's a good idea or not.

if we are going to do the zdcp styled map, the only day i could possibly work on it without interruptions and get it done the way i want it would be sunday, all other days are pretty busy and my time would be much more limited. just so you know... if it matters.

Map10 is 99% done I am playtesting it and I've finished it on UV its an pretty tough map an bunch of traps that are an bit unfair I think, so if you are bored you could give it an spin its an short map it shouldn't take you long to finish it play carefully and watch those sniping chaingunners.

Personally I think the gameplay is fine. I enjoyed the map more than your CC3 maps. The limited health worked nicely to make it more challenging and the only part that I might call 'unfair' was the cger in my back at the rl secret :)

Nice work DD! Remember that at map10 the player will probably have all the weapons and some armour already so I don't think it'll be too hard even though I died a couple of times from a pistol start. Looks great, some very nice touches. Looking forward to seeing the other levels!

My WAD, Map15, is now more than halfway done and coming along very nicely if I do say so myself.

@DD: I think your traps are fair. While I consider my skillz far above average (=D), I survived all traps on the first try from pistol start, so they shouldn't be problematic. I like the way your secrets are so intuitive such that, while you have to looks for them, they all feel well marked. Your map is PERFECT!!! I'm warning you, if you change anything, I'll hunt you down and make you change it back =P. Of your maps that I've played, this one's definitely my favorite (I've played it thrice!)
By the way, I think the music from TNT: Evilution map20 fits your map perfectly. It's what I listened to as I played it.

On to further business, now that I've completed my maps, I've had time to work on the graphics. The first screenie below is the spiced up enter screen. The one below that is the completion screen. The authors will appear below the map name with the fiery red letters with blue borders. The other words will be grey with a blue border while the numbers will be grey with a dark grey border. Also, the completion screen reads "Completed" instead of "Finished."

Edit: Status bar updated in a later post.

i thought your map was pretty easy dutch. the secrets werent too hard either, and i stayed above 100 health most of the level. it was really fun though and thats what counts. looked good too, i liked the theme.

by the way death destiny, im not too sure about the status bar... i really dont see it when i play, but i think its kind of garish. whatever, my opinion doesnt really count because i dont use status bar anyways.

Sorry but I have to agree with Butts there, Death-Destiny, it is quite garish. I know you put a lot of time and effort into this stuff but I hope you don't take this too personally.
I suggest you use either red or blue but not both, and not so saturated. I do like your grey numbers though, so why not make the rest of the text match..?
More unsettlingly though, your intense blue numbers on the status bar are really hard to read against that red...
