It's not rubble*, although modifying the carpet flat to show some contours like the stones' might not be a bad idea.

* Rubble is a pile of loose stones (such as fallen from a destroyed wall), while the flat is just rough stone masonry (stones carefully fit together as floor tiles).

They come from scythe2 who took em from the gothic serie.
The project is barely starting, and yes we intend to credit the creators and ask for permissions.

When making map titles, a good way to really fuck with people is to put them in different languages. Norwegian is good for doing this.

btw oubliette is a french word ... derived from oubli (oblivion)

An oubliette (from the French oubliettes (noun plural)) was a form of dungeon which was accessible only from a hatch in a high ceiling.

oubliettes are called this way because they were throwing people in it (they usually broke a couple bones on the way, if not dying) and forget about them... (oblivion = oubli).

People never came back from these...

Oubliettes were called "vergeetputten" (forgetting wells) in Dutch.
