So other than the incompatibility of map21 then I just wanted to point out a couple of other glitches I picked up on. One of the lifts in that map has no texture behind it. The other thing was there's some <!> in map35. Didn't investigate closely but I'm guessing it's a 3D mode start.

Aside from those very minor failings then this blew me away. Much love in particular to whoever it was that detailed Luftwaffles :>

And I haven't checked into it, but are map06's (err..it is map06, right? the jimmy/mechadon snow map?) lifts still missing tags? Untagged lifts only work in ZDoom.

m01 touch up flag base, colors match on blue side
m03 added sector damage to off map area, rocket jumpable


Nautilus, one of your maps I didnt add from last version. crystal.wad wasnt same map from wad. Just post a link of wad with wad name M01_somename.wad so I know where to put it.

M21 crashes Zdaemon, probably the 32 open sectors. Will fix for next version.

Music is probably still off. Please say what maps have wrong music, and possibly what other map is using it. Music was probably switched.

afaik its not the open sectors, its the SEG limit, but still I dont see why it should be removed :S..
It still works in Skulltag at least, and its not a big deal to skip 1 map in the other ports. I mean if there's nothing better replacing it, then I dont see it necessary to remove it.. :( Maybe move it further in the maplist if necessary, but still I dont see why it should be removed.

Who knows, maybe this map will inspire Odamex and ZDaemon to support bigger SEG limits :P

I have gone over Map21, did some research and experiments and have concluded that either I remove tons of detail, or dump map.

From first post:
- Boom Compatible map format: NO ZDOOM-EXCLUSIVE STUFF! We mean it!

Tons of sectors way over limit makes this map zdoom exclusive.

I am going to start by removing all the lighting. Then other details if lighting alone does not make it compatible.

If the detailer wants to do it a specific way, maybe just some lighting removed and other specific details, feel free.

All maps seem to be fine in zdaemon, no crashes or very obvious glitches.

For Odamex:

M01 small graphic glitch, white boxes in sky
M09 HOM to the max
M11 HOM almost to the max
M25 minor sky hom

All maps have sky lines.

The quick Odamex bugfix by Denis has now fixed all the segfaulting maps!

M33 updated.
M21 Minor texures
M01 fix mistagged sky.

A few minimal fixes, dont really need to download this one.

There appears to be a bug in Odamex that makes massive HOM when a ceiling and floor use F_SKY. Hopefully it can be fixed soon. Map 11 and Map 25 work fine in prboom.


2 maps left before massive playtesting in all ports commences.
M09 still needs something badly.
M20 sky, wtf..should be alot easier than M09

It's been a long time since I started my redetailing of The Accursed Gorge. Since I haven't gotten it done after so much time, I decided I might as well show what I have of it now. If anybody can finish detailing the outdoor section, that'd be cool.

Like I said over there then 18 maps is a crazy amount to expect people to assimilate in one sitting.

The sessions usually go on for 2-3hrs. At 10mins per map then 18maps = 3hrs - and that's without any of them being played more than once.

There's a load of WADs we've run on ZDS which never get played through on the night. Particularly then I'm thinking back to when we ran Barbapapa's CTF maps and we (criminally) only got half way through it. So, in the immortal words of Sledge Hammer: http://www.guruoffilm.com/images/sledge1.jpg
