Map22 is progressing nicely. It's now at 2872 linedefs. There will be wood, green stone&marble+caves. A little bit like in E4/Death Tormention 3. Estimated to be done in 2 weeks if nothing comes to way of inspiration :)

WOS will be uploaded to the archives about 1 to 3 weeks after MAP22 is all done. It could be released in September instead of October. It all depends on things.

Map22 is progressing well. I'm having another cold, which is slowly getting better and allows the energy to sit infront of my laptop and work on the map. It's now around 3500 linedefs and growing. This will be a GSTONE/MARBLE/WOODMET-combination with nasty surprises and killer music, a remix from d_e2m2 by me.

take your time, especially with gameplay tweaking. afaik a fixed release of plutonia 2 hasn't still been released...

i wrote in another thread how i played that map for hours when i discovered berserking imps, and just for the music.

as for the textures, is there a table with every doom texture with its name on the net? i keep reading the texture names, i know roughly what they are, but just roughly.

GSTONE is the big green bricks you see alot in E2. MARBLE is the green marble textures (like the ones you see the giant Hell Baron, Arch Vile, and Icon of Sin faces on) and WOODMET is the texture that is vertical wood boards with rusty metal borders along the top, middle and bottom of the texture.

I've learned from mapping with Doombuilder.

Sounds good Kristian. Damn about getting another rave cold. Hopefully the warmer weather should speed up the recovery process.

The MAP22 song in WOS is the only song based on the songs from Doom and its still quite different. The other songs are totally original. When Map22 is done I will sort things out and upload to the archives.

I'm unsure about the progression of Map22. Kristian last told me it was at about 5000 lines about 5 or 6 days ago. But psytrance forest parties and work have held him up.

But WOS will be hopefully out before October 1.

Nebula_Kristian emailed pcorf the other day with news on MAP22 and it is said that the map is some 66.6% done with over 6,500 lines of detail.

I'm not rushing to get this released. And BTW MAP25 was also inspired by a level in DVii.

Be sure to gather some people for beta testing before a formal release. The eyes of many catch more bugs than the eyes of few.

Near the end of DVII-1's development, we brought a few speed runners in and they caught quite a few bugs I had missed.

This is why I don't get why most projects are kept so secretive. If everything was released publicly then anyone can help test.

Bah.. you know you could do what Modern Devs do and release it half finished and then just add a Patch to fix those probs about a month later.

Why would they do that when a.) they're not charging for it and b.) they're this close to the entire thing being finished?
