Eternal Doom : My very first PWAD ever played, and I still didn't get bored of. Great music, big epic maps and fights make this mapset unforgottable. I had hopes DV2 could be its closest contender, unfortunately it isn't, well, we only got the demo for now. ED4 it's still too early to judge it (well, go play map27 of it immediately if not done yet).
GULAG (Heretic) : Easily the best Heretic PWAD I've found by now (in the idgames archives). If you haven't played it, go get it now. This 5-map set is an adventure by itself, rumbling through all sorts of caverns, beaches, abandonned or full of critters cities, and that final fight... Heretic epicness in all its glory. Want more!
Honorable mentions :
Scythe 2 : I disliked Scythe I because most levels were short, lack of atmosphere and looked plain... Scythe 2 fixed all of that. Nifty 5-level themed episodes (egyptian theme being the best)
AV : Misri Halek comes out to be to the best map out this incredible, legendary mapset.
KS : Gonna love the mapper's style, big cities in flames, lots of maps got this epic feeling but map29 is the most outstanding among others.
TNT.wad map 4
Requiem city maps 13 and 27
Super Sonic Doom as a whole (some boring levels)
HocX (big monster feasts for Heretic)
Most irritating map I'm playing on right now :
Tormentor666's "More tricks and traps", Zpack E2M3. Ouch.
