I think rain would ruin the overall atmosphere seeing the screens...
(I can't hide that I imagine the map as something with a dark ambient atmosphere with dark clouds and empty streets 'till the first monsters).

One thing that I have noticed so far, is that the streets themselves look too benign, I think its because its a bit too bright, especially for that cloudcover. I bet if you lowered the ambient lighting of the outdoor areas about 32-64 units it would look awesomely creepy.

Screens look great, but it's not Doom, it's another game :)
3d-modelled corpses on a ceiling and a sprite imp don't fit each other. IMHO you need models of monsters too.

Yes. I try to import some cars from Stalker. It's look great, but this model have too much poligons and GZDooM with this runs too slowly.

I release this soon as I have finished scripts and storyline. After release this I want make more levels in realistic-city style with tons of demons in every corner and flat, and with no-linear style of gameplay. But I need more mappers to cooperate. If anybody is interest, just show some screens.

I spended whole day on optimization this map, becouse some sectors are "little" lagy. It's very irritating work and on this day I have enough this project... Heres another screens:

it looks pretty good. time for me to nitpick!!! use high-poly monster models, replace those damn doom candles with medieval/castle looking ones, add more detail, lower the outside lighting and use more dynamic lights in good spots, don't use any original doom textures... in fact, i don't even think you should be using doom monsters at all, or any doom resources. get human zombie models. k now i have been the asshole of the thread. other than that, nice job keep it up, you are a great mapper etc. etc.

I hate these horrible models, they are hideous. Especially Archvile, Mancubus, Cacodemon and Cyberdemon. I like only Arachnotron model - only he looks like original. I will not add any monster models, becouse:
1 - I don't have all live for one mod
2 - Their just not looking like true Doom monsters, rather then funny caricatures.
I use models of items, armors etc from this:

Their just perfect and looks 100% like the originals. I did not ask yet athour of this models about permission, but I hope he will agree my idea to put all models to my pk3. I don't want that peopels play this map without this models, becouse sprites just don't looking good in lots of locations.
I will think over the candels. Someone have high-res sprites of torches? Or maybe models working with GZDooM?

^^ Those models in that pack you linked to look really good. They look authentic which is important. I thought somebody a while back was working on a voxel pack that was very similar to that.

The third screenshot hasn't been sized down, and resultingly takes out the forum layout like a sucker punch aimed right to the sternum. As well, in this post the second screenshot hasn't been sized down either, making this whatever-it-is into a two-on-one tea party.

And by tea party, I mean beating.

With fists.
