No that bad Bucket, but it isn't that IMO, though from the beginning to the middle it's nice.
Also note that we receive a lot of ambient tracks, but we need explosive musics, we are on a Plutonia style of megawad, don't forget !

Why didn't you have a look to Laura's site ?... (also she's really kind).

Her website is perfect for MIDI researchs, with videogame music and original musicians... I used it many times during my own works.

Videogame part :
http://www.laurasmidiheaven.com/VideoGms.shtml
(most of the games on most of the machines).

Original musics for videogames :
http://www.laurasmidiheaven.com/Ori...nal-Midis.shtml
(ask musicians to help or give right to use their creations...)

"Derek Clay" is in my opinion one of the talentuous artist that style may fit Doom levels...

Derek's page :
http://laurasmidiheaven.com/Origina...nal-Midis.shtml

Here are some of his creation that I think you may easily adapt :
- Through the Darkness
- Death Before Dishonor
- The return
- ...

Well now take your headphones, make your selection and connect with the different artists... with the hope they may help you.

Good luck then...

In a few months, we've mostly finished the mapping part.
Bucket : I don't know what to think of your music, it's nice but I don't know which map could fits with... I'd like that someone else from the team gives a feedback here.
Anyway, looking forward for a more action oriented track Bucket !

I hope not to be late. A friend of mine started to compose midis, I think he has a natural skill. He doesn't have an account here, and when I commented him about this he said that he's not skilled enough, yet I'd like to share a work of him to see what you think about it (both the midi and his skills). Please take in mind that's an unfinished job (he plans to make the song at least 4 minutes long), and this is his first piece (100% from scratch). I'll post a link once the song is complete.

If you have Linux, try a program called Rosegarden. But really, there is no substitute for Cakewalk.

I went to the Cakewalk website and there's a whole host of products there related to music, and I'm not sure which you're talking about. Which product is the best for making midis like these?

Can you upload the file on speedyshare please ?
Because strangely I can't read midis out of my browser on this comp.

Mostly I was asking if he's skilled enough to compose a midi or two for this. If that demo midi fits better yet, but I know its style doesn't match at all with Plutonia's atmosphere.

Sonar seems to be their flagship product, but it may have too many bells & whistles. I use CW Pro 6.0.1 and it's perfect.

Huh ??
They are original stuff, made by original musicians...
That's why the directory is named "original songs FOR videogames" and not "FROM" :D

They are two directories, so focus on original one...

They probably want stuff made originally for this project, not stuff taken from others and used. So when people ask where that midi is from they will say it is from Plutonia 2, and only Plutonia 2.

The first link you gave was for ripped stuff, unless you think a midi from an old game isn't one...
The second is far more interesting, but we'll see at the last time.

Edit : and zap is close to correct

Ok, that's exactly matching with what I'm typing...

Create 32 nice MIDIs is a quite hard job for only some people, so maybe get additionnal artists could help to reduce the work amount.

Topic is "looking for midi musicians", I simply gave link and some samples. Once they found nice original artists with a musical style they like, simply need to write them an e-mail.

They are really talentuous musicians on this website.
Simply tell them about Plutonia 2 project which is in my opinion a really huge project, that could easily motivate MIDI artists to work for it if they appear on credit page...

Huh I was just speaking about the first link but anyway it doesn't matter.

Beside that, thanks for the other link, it would be a nice help, we'll discuss this in the group I think.
