So will all maps submitted for Claustrophobia make it into the final version, it would be an dissapointment if you had to ditch certain maps from some mappers.

So I can asume that Constriction is not getting 32 maps? I'm still working on my third map for Constriction.Maybe I do an few more if I'm still not bored enough from making them :p

Heh I started mapping Poison Ivy today, made some good progress. I had this urge to speedmap, so I went ahead after studying. Layout is pretty good I think, lots of traps. Crucial for the player to keep moving around taking advantage of spaces when monsters spawn in. Quarter of the size completed, still plenty to polish.

I thought I had to send the map I had submitted for Constriction, but apparently I had already mailed it to you Mech. o_O It's called Stagnant Depot, in case you're wandering what map it would be. I'm about to mail you a third map, too. It's a map7 replacement. :D

Edit: I'm gonna email Stagnant again because instead of adding 3 co-op starts I only added one.

There's already a map07 replacement in the map list, using the specialized map07 triggers...:\

I actually made it for fun after I made my map for Claustrophobia. I'm thinking it may not get passed for the next project because of how difficult it is. I have trouble beating it on easy. @_@

Considering Severed Survival was supposedly a weak map, I may touch it up and resubmit as an {EASY} map, or I might restart with a more open design. Your call - Mech, Essel, anyone who got to play this alpha - keep working on the original SS, y/n.

There should be a section on the first post that lists the maps that need work. It would be easier to see what maps have been tested and whether to still be patient in waiting for the results.

@InsanityBringer: Off the top of my head I can't really remember; school has been my priority for the past two days :P. Thankfully esselfortium has been a huge help, I would talk to him about it (and maybe Belial, I'm really glad he's playtested some of these maps!)

@Lord_Z: I know that, atleast anyways, each map has been played to an extent. Again, I need to get back with some of the testers and finish up sorting out all of the maps. Also the "Overflow" section is where the maps that need work are listed.

@Dreadopp: That very first hallway you go into, look at the floor; you have a shadow around your gradient lighting that is darker than the rest of the room. I must have missed that the first time I played it. I can post a screenshot of what I'm talking about if you still can't find it.

@Solarn: As essel and Use3D have already said, it does take a bit of practice to get used to. My first 1024 map I made is probably a little more cramped than I wanted it to be, but the maps afterwards (I think anyways) are a lot better. Just keep at it :)

@StupidBunny: It means that it hasn't been added to the list yet. I'm sure by now it's been played and critiqued, I just haven't had time to talk about the rest of the maps yet with the testing guys since Monday and Tuesday are busy days for me. I promise I'll get to the rest soon; every map from Claustrophobia will be added to the first page eventually.

@Butts: I know essel had a tough time with that map. It was 5AM when I got to it and I didn't have the patience to keep starting the map over, so I played with god mode on :P. I need to play through it again, but from what I could tell the first time around, it looked very unforgiving (this is in response to your marble themed map...Map27 I believe). For your other map, Obliteration, I was a little confused on some parts until I figured out where the lifts where. By that time though I was really sleepy, so I don't remember much other than it was extremely difficult.

@Craigs: When you send it to me, I'll be sure I get other people to play it other than myself. I hate giving feedback alone because I'm not that great of a player :P. ALSO, anyone who is making a map is more than welcome to send it to whomever they wish to get feedback. You can even make it public, I don't mind.

@dutch devil: At this point, Constriction does not exist. The best 32 maps will be put into Claustrophobia; if we have an excess of good maps, I may start a side-1024 project. All of the other maps will be put into a secondary .wad and still be released to the public.

@KingKill33: Thanks! We can still probably use a 2nd Map07 for the secondary wad, if that's ok with you.

@Fisk: I'll get back to you on that when I get back from class tonight.

I have updated the project guidelines. Be sure to re-read them!

Ah, I see it now. I thought you meant the first outdoor area, that's why I could not find it. Anyway, I fixed that and sent my map in again.

you are right, i was out of line, because i try too hard to make my maps challenging, rather than focusing on the more "fun" aspect of it.

but still, i really suck at 1024 maps.

I made a good start on my second map today, as you can see from this:

edit: @Dreadopp: Looks good, but you might want to consider replacing the techy silver stuff and the techy railing with something that fits more with the demonic/gothic theme. Metal or stone, maybe, and a different type of railing? Just a thought. Depends on what you're going for, of course.

EDIT: I also just noticed the BROWN1 bars and BROWN96 whatever-that-is on the top. I wouldn't recommend replacing those; while they're made for techbases I suppose, they're not exclusively techy and can be used in other types of maps without spoiling the theme IMO.

at 1024 maps i think i do, i get negative response, to me that is equivalent to sucking, i want to have high standards to make quality stuff.

dreadopp, that is a really nice looking map, despite the odd texture combo. the colors work well together, anyways. edit: agreed about the silver texture.

I was thinking that while I was building it. I just thought I'd give it a try. I guess I'll fiddle around with different textures and see what looks better. Though, I think I'll leave the railing since I like how that looks.

I like the railing, too. The silver would look better as MTSP_N3C, in my opinion, at least.

Obviously you didn't include enough railgunners from 3000px away or 3d floors over pits. Or perhaps some of your textures were not brown?
