...of course most of the music in the entire wad is awesome.

The song in E3M8 is definitely my personal favorite from ADO.

Scythe 2 music was pretty good. Map21-27 music's awesome, I don't know where it came from though, did someone custom make them or was it from else where?

Massmouth 2
Dream Duel
CIF 3
Serpent: Resurrection (not out yet ofc)

Mods ftw.

(some good midi stuff too like HR, MM2 map 17, ITD E2M4, Doom E2M6, Heretic, 4aces-2, Darkday, Incubus and many other Doom/Heretic wads)

Edit: speaking of good midi's, anyone know what tune is playing on map 04 of nitelife.wad? (it's a conversion of something familiar but it's bugged me for years)

Oh, c'mon.

Icarus Map 01 has everything you could possibly need.

A little Rush, a little NIN, a little Prince, and all baked and processed in the Tolwyn-style!

(Actually Icarus 1 was one of my own personal favorites)

LOS E1M5 first fight, i love this song.
And sure, the NeoDoom soundtrack. Map 22, 25 and 28 just kick ass.

I wasn't a huge fan of Paul Corfiatis's music before Whispers of Satan, but that whole soundtrack is incredible.

Claustrophobia1024's map 21, Padma, had a really awesome tune--from some sort of 90s 3D space shooter.

But my all-time favorite is map01 of Hellcore (either version). It's listed in the credits as "unknown midi"--I don't suppose anyone here can actually identify it?

TNT map04 (AV map18) is easily my favorite tune in any Doom wad.

Honorable mention: Hell Revealed 2 map15 (especially the melodic parts)

Map27

i don't know the rest, though map23 does have a Heretic sound to it.

Tolwyn: So you're the brain behind the music of map01 in Icarus, its my favorite one along with map31's music.

Alien Vendetta - Map01 and Map04
HR - Map13
TNT - Map04
Dark Halls (D_E1M3)

I can't think of many stand-alone MIDIs, actually. Scythe 2, for example, had some MIDIs that, alone, aren't great. Of course, most of those were used in other games (Megaman 7 music on Map11 was AWESOME). I mostly only recognize MIDIs while I'm playing a level and then forget them later on.

Actually all Tolwyn's tracks are credited to Tolwyn on Doom Wiki (MAP01, MAP02, MAP15 and so on). What I'd like to know are authors of the music for the rest of the levels.

And not related to the previous paragraph, I'm surprised so many people like TNT MAP04. I hate it!

This one (though music may not be by him, but credit is in due), Sabbat Martyr Deathmatch by Mech, the style is quite good for the various themes.

Cybercrime 3.0 MAP06, which is actually The Love Trap by Anvil (play it with SlumpEd if you don't have an xm player).

I'm not a big fan of that one either. My favorite TNT song is the one from Redemption (map9? something like that). It somehow feels both gritty and mournful at the same time--and it's in 15/4, which isn't a time signature you hear every day.

The MIDI used in ONEWEEK.wad map11 is my favorite tune in any Doom wad. While the word is so misused nowadays it kind of lost its meaning, "epic" is what comes to mind when listening this.

It sounds just as epic in freak4 map08.

As for Alien Vendetta map04, that's Journey.mid from Fire Fight, made by a composer who's somewhat of a legend on the Polish Atari XL/XE scene.

1monster Map 5

I'm pretty sure that was the Demon level, in which case it's Zombie by the Cranberries--it does work well as a midi.

A couple of other quick IDs--CChest3 map 29, several songs from Kama Sutra and (I think) Alien Vendetta, and pretty much the whole Hell Revealed soundtrack are from Rise of the Triad, for those who haven't played it.
