Nope. What is that?

Error diffusion means you compute the error (the difference between the r/g/b color you wanted, and the palette color you got) and spread that error to neighbor pixels.

Floyd-Steinberg dithering is an example of error diffusion. The Wikipedia article on Floyd-steinberg is good.

Both Quake 1 and 2 used an error diffusion on the shrunk mipmaps, as most of the time it looks better.

How hard is it to come across a bottom of the barrel mobo/cpu/gpu/etc where you are? Because I'm certain that hardware in America about to be thrown away cannot be older than 8 years. Fundraiser to upgrade Miguel's PC? I'd pledge $10 Paypal to get the ball rolling.

I have two secondary computers, one I got for free, the other for like $15. They are no more than 5 years old.

Heh, it's not that hard but I tend to refrain from buying hardware unless I really need to. I almost upgraded relatively recently, though. I thought the computer was broken, as it wouldn't start up the system (the fan would run and nothing would happen). It turned out that removing and placing all the cards fixed the issue!

I did implement mipmapping for prboom-plus, but it is not finished/released yet.
Ah, I was wondering about this last night, visually trying to compare Doom and Boom with PrBoom+ to see if the moire effect was still there. The good thing is it'll be user-dependent. Some glitches get fixed and it's not possible to set the original behavior (tutti frutti, for example).
