Are there any wads with a map that cover a large area vertically?
Tower like or something

Especially now with the development of room over room source ports.

Thank you, but when I was referring to room over room source ports
I was making a point that it's probably easier to create vertically structured levels with the support of 3d level effects.

I'm looking for a wad with game play that I would involve a long journey up or down through various rooms
not some sudo Quake effect(it's odd that Quake seems to lack vertically structured levels as well)

Well, you may then want to try this. It's an adventure through a huge level with vertically stacked structures. Believe me, it's awesome. Try it and see what I mean.
