I'm liking that last pic.

But am I the only one who's bothered by the shitty sprite filtering and the sprites going partially into the floor in some of the screens? This isn't actually about the maps it's more of a general question. I ask because I see a lot of this when mappers make screenshots.

That's because the screenshots were taken in Doom Builders 3D mode. The sprites don't end up like that in the final product they are just there to give an idea of what things are where. They dont even have a full set of rotations.

I have been working on some areas on the map.

Not 100% finished. The bottom section is just created. No entries in there yet etc.

Much of line def and vector's :P Just trying to get a feeling that it more that just a squared room. I think this wad/map will be quite impossible on Nightmare. I Will maybe do a 'film' later on about how hard it is but i don't think i am good enough on Doom to handle the difficult.

3Dmode. and print screen gives it a darker look that it really is.

Low on weapons and monsters that just comes out of nowhere :P But i have not yet balanced the map. Will be having some Beta testers for that later on etc. I have maybe finished the map to around 25%.

Its quite clear to see from the screen shots how your mapping skills have improved, although that is quite allot of linedefs used for quite inconsequential detail in quite a small space where you have made rocks around the mancubuses.

Testing some configurations.. is this a good idea? Have not working on the walls etc. just the pillars some textures will be changed.

You pretty much seem to have only small, restricted rooms with not too interesting layouts. Try creating more open spaces with height variations and somewhat more complicated/sprawling blueprints. There's no reason to do only tiny boring rooms since you aren't making 1024 maps. :P

That third broken pillar looks really good. It just needs a context I guess. It almost looks out of place against the background of a huge plain gray wall.

Definitely an interesting looking map tho.

The wall texture is not set. just 1 temporary. just testing things if it is wort time spending on it etc.

I have one more pillar fore you :)

I will use the vanilla one. just happens that sometimes i play over PL2 and 'get' that bar etc.
