I hate Icon of Sin Boss. They should stoped on Final Doom.

My favorite Boss is the Hells' Battery, from Bosses.wad.That thing is the greatest ass-kicker boss I ever seen.

I'm also not a big fan of Icon of Sins but thanks for your comments about WOS. I wanted to do something original. After your decent below the mysterious underworld (blue sky area) you fight the Cyberdemon in a dark, creepy intergalactic space like area and then had to flick each switch and do it fast before a monster would spawn. You had a choice, to use the invulnerability while fighting the Cyber or use it when shooting rockets into the Icon's brain. What I do is I fight the Cyber and flick the switches without invulnerability then grab the invulnerability and go and rape the Icon of Sin to death by firing rockets into its brain. Its not easy keeping your balance because those enemies behind you are firing at you and if an Arch Vile is spawned you have to go and kill it fast. Also the Icon in WOS is harder to kill because I placed the Romero head farther away from the rear wall inside its brain so the splash damage would be less thus making it harder to kill. So you need 20+ rockets to kill it and the longer it takes, the harder it is to keep your balance because of the monsters that are spawned from behind. So you have to sometimes turn around and kill those monsters wasting precious time of your invulnerability. But its an easy boss to kill if you know what you're doing.

My favorite boss is when you first encounter the Cyberdemon in E2M8 of Doom. Wow, I will never forget that unthankful roar when I first saw it.

About the Icon of Sin maps, there are plenty I actually like. (WOS's Map30 and Plutonia 2's Map30 come to mind.)

As for my favorite bosses, the Claust.wad bosses were awesome yet nintendo hard. As for the CIF3 Bosses, does anyone imagine fighting the final boss' last form with this following music playing? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JFGZKU7xwE

I should imagine not a lot of people will agree with me on this, but Requiem MAP23. You sure as hell don't expect it. :P

WOS Icon of Sin is way too easy. Nice, but too easy.

Anyone else think HR Icon of Sin was ridiculously difficult by Doom 2 map30 standards? (In that map, the icon shoots four cubes instead of just one.)

No.

Why: I still have all the time to shoot those 3 rockets.

I was thinking about the Demolisher, and came up with an even deadlier form.

--BOSS--

Queen Spiderdemon (another name I thought of was the Spider Assassin)
HP:12,000
Resists BFG attacks (no point blanks!)
Pain Chance: 1/125
Drops: None of course
It has 6 chainguns (where the demolisher's BFGs are) in a chain gun shape, it has 2 BFGs (where the demolisher's chainguns are), and it has 2-4 rocket launchers on each of it's legs. The rocket launchers fire homing missiles. When this creature attacks, it fires it's mega-chaingun, bfgs, and rockets nonstop.

In addition, this creature fires "tracer" beams out of it's eyes in a random direction when it cannot see it's enemy. These beams are smart and will only damage their enemy. I came up with this to prevent hit & hide.

So how are you supposed to kill the damn thing. Trigger some crusher? Otherwise from the looks of it, any interaction with the monster means inevitable death and is plain overkill unless he's not supposed to be beatable.

I like this too, even E1M8 had a little leadup to the final battle. I think it makes for more of an enjoyable and atmospheric finale than just "here's a boss, get to work".

That reminds me of Freedoom's map30, that great map30.

that's why fighting cybers is fun, they can kill you in one or two shots, but their missiles can be dodged, giving an agile player good odds. that thing on the other seems to kill a player even without looking at him, so there isn't much reward for skillful play.
