What I need in particular are a few examples of WADs with good-looking mountains or outdoor areas with "little-to-none tree usage". There's a preference to Vanilla and Boom, though I wouldn't mind pointing maps which aren't Boom compatible.

Please indicate if custom textures are used.

I figure WOS has very neatly done this type of areas (grass, waterfalls, occasional trees in MAP04-06). I would like to know some other stuff, though.

Don't remember about tree usage, but herian2 early levels were mostly outdoors I think.

You may be interested in map13 ("Eagle's Nest") of Huy Pham's "Deus Vult II". Maybe you could have a look at Chopkinsca's "Phocas Island" and its sequel: they feature some very good-looking landscapes, but no mountains and have got lot of vegetation.

Congestion 1024 has two (I think) mountainous outdoor maps. Of course, they're pretty small...

Didy's maps tend to have great outdoor areas, particularly the second level of For Whom the Bell Tolls.

There's also Mordeth, Earth, and various parts of Kama Sutra and Scythe II.
