Holy damn, that looks great!

I can't help but wonder if the night sky might look better with more in it than just black with stars. Some sort of variation from clouds and such, etc...actually...here, I maded this real quick:

I agree though, the black sky looks awfully drab and low-quality compared to the rest of the project. Those pixel-stars just stand out too much. A skybox would absolutely do wonders here.
