Given the theme, you could replace some of the tech base textures with worn or rusty versions.

I agree with Memfis that it would be too great a clash of styles to allow any textures but you could make a texture wad that suits your vision of your project. If you're going to do this it's best you do it quick so everyone has the same resource from the start.

Are you voting for textures? I go for stock like DeathevokatioN.

Anyway, by sticking to story, do you mean we should make an end of a map the start of the next map? Or do you mean sticking to theme?

EDIT: I'm in for a techbase themed map! I think MAP09 will be my claimed slot.

In the worst, used the stock of texture as that of Vela Pax, which remains close to doom1/2 textures, me IMHO, I prefer only with the textures of doom2.

I advanced my vanilla map, in spite of I still have no agreement of Matt534Dog for the chosen slot, I have some screenshots, but nothing extraordinary:

^Cool screenshots! Let me put you for 09 as you requested.

I think were just going to use the stock textures, since everyone has a lot of enthusiasm for them.

@C3N09 I meant sticking to theme, like Dooms 1 & 2. If you want to get two consecutive slots and link them, that's fine by me.

Before anyone starts mapping city maps, please take a look at this sketch I did:



This is what the city looks like. Try keeping those locations and the appearance in mind when mapping. As far as texturing/theme goes, I explained it in the OP.

EDIT: Also, I would now like to request musicians for this project. Please PM me if you would like to be a musician.

I'd absolutely love to contribute to this project, but I'm tied down with other stuff at the moment. Hopefully this'll still be around when I'm finished a bit more of my own personal workload.
