All's okay, just map in whatever mood you feel like I guess. As long as the map is good then the build time or size doesn't matter so much, the more I think about it. :)

And nice to hear about the music. If you have any trouble doing it yourself, PLEASE do not hestitate to try and get in touch with PRIMEVAL, Jimmy91, or stewboy - they all work wonders on this stuff!

I can't play Doom without music, just ruins the mood.

Perhaps you should do what the Casalis did for plutonia and just pick out the most appropriate IWAD tracks.

amen. music completely defines the atmosphere of a map for me; i think it just as intentional a part of the design process as any. music is such a big part of the experience for me. when a map is especially memorable, though, i remember not just the gameplay or visuals, but the music just as much. this is especially true for me with Scythe 2, among others.

granted, if it doesn't have its own music then i'd probably spend a while coming up with my own custom music wad, but that doesn't feel as authentic.

Map25 is up for download! Screen here! 3 hours! I'm very happy with this one, should provide a nice challenge. Hopefully. Hard to tell with so little testing. As far as I know it's the only map in the wad that breaks 100 monsters. :o

Yeah, this is likely what I'll do.

Do you still plan on secret levels? If so, then there's 6 to go.

Hello how are you Map27 is now up for download! Screen here. Again 3 hours. This one is all about chaos, baby. :)

If you're thinking of giving the wad a try and haven't played any of the maps yet, now's a good time to do so to catch any bugs before I finish. Well ok, good for me.

27 was fun, but a little easier than the last couple. I hope you make the last 3 super hard :)

IDGI - Can you elaborate?

If nothing else, just make them like other maps, that's better than none at all.

And if DH85 says so, tick Map27 up a notch or so preferrably with the Map28 download. :)

Map28 is up for download, yay. Screen here, I just love my expansive areas. 3 hours, most of which spent getting the gameplay together. Hopefully this is crazy enough.

Also, there's a secret in the map that I think is OP but not quite sure. If I could get someone else's opinion on it, that'd be great.

Thatt's fine, I've no problem, but I'd really like to know if there'll be any. Just a simple yes or no. If you don't want to give it out publicly, please PM me. I promise NOT to share in that case. :)

Yes! 28 is the kind of challenge I'm looking for. I wanna see this same difficulty in 29 and 30, very well done. But the big lava pit doesn't damage.

Unless intentional, I'd say this should be fixed with the release of Map29.

Huzzah! All 32 maps are completed! :D

Map29 took 2.5 hours to create, Map30 1.5 hours. You can see a screen of Map29 here.

As for the secret maps, I approached two of my favourite level designers about doing a map each for the wad. They agreed and each produced a really great map. Snakes is on Map31 and Tango on Map32. :) Snakes' map was a 2.5 hour effort, Tango's 4 hours.

I'm going to start picking music now, and then do a series of runs through the wad. I'll hopefully upload a release candidate tonight, and if all goes well it'll be in /idgames tomorrow.

EDIT: Fixed lava on Map28, thanks.

Congrats on completing all the levels! The whole idea behind this and the fact that you did it successfully is quite impressive.

Played till map 28. They were all good and fun but I couldn't complete map 25. Too hard for me. Better play HMP next time. ;) Can't wait...

And the download is available!

Music is a combination of the Doom iwads and Strife which is my favourite midi soundtrack (sorry for ripping you Strife, I'll make it up to you baby). IIRC Snake chose a Heretic track and I'm not sure where Tango's midi came from.

Thanks! I'm not sure how I did it in hindsight heh.

Glad to hear you liked them! Maybe once you've got Map25 down on HMP you'll kick it's ass on UV. ;)

Fixed a few bugs:

Blue armour and medkit were raising on a lift when they shouldn't on Map30. Imp stuck in block monster linedef on Map29. Fixed a host of texturing issues around various maps.

Certainly a lot of good wads around at the moment. Decisions, decisions!

Good to know about the music. Thanks for the bugfix wad, I also found a couple of tuttifrutti textures when running around in choco. I've fixed those suckers up. :)

Ok, bugfix version is up for download. In addition to fixes mentioned on the previous page I've added health to the end of many maps for those doing a playthrough without pistol starts. Seeing as the maps are rather dry on pickups, not so great to be starting one on 10 health or something.

Unless something super serial crops up that I've missed, this will be the final version. I'll record some demos tonight and make the upload. :)
