According to some unknown GNU FSF intern, the "Authors MAY use" clause is too vague and may not really grant rights to redistribute modified versions (see this recent thread in Freedoom forum).
I think it would be really hard to make that case though, given the culture of re-use in the DOOM community. And the author of the resource would have to be the one to sue, which would be totally retarded as he's the one who actually chose the most permissive license amongst the two template choices.
I mean assuming he's really the author and didn't just claim someone else's stuff as his own - that's something that IS a big issue, as quite a few PWADs take textures and stuff from commercial IWADs and don't even mention it...
