That, and the fact that the 2d-only map format means you only have one floor per 200ft hi-rise (unless you're stepping them, of course).

As a result, the repeating texture on the outside walls will give 'repetetive' a new ring.

No, not at all. Some level editors have a certain amount of grid you can use, but Doom itself with a source port does not limit any such things.

Ah, and that's where silent teleports come in =)

My next map is going to showcase the silent teleport trick.
