XWE assumes all sounds above 65535 bytes in size are 16bit samples. Some 8bit sounds are bigger than this (E.G Action Doom's BFG sound) and XWE screws them up when playing them.

You are absolutely right, thanks for pointing it out. It was an easy fix, I'm surprised it didn't come up before.
