I have a wad that I am creating and I want to know how you change the palette around. I need to give the wood textures a bit of a more saturated look to make it darkerthen usual. How is this possible?

Copy the PLAYPAL lump from the original Doom WAD. Double-click on the colors you want to change.

You can also make gradients. Click the first color you want and Shift+Click the last one, then select Gradient from the Palette menu.

OK. Do i copy the PLAYPAL out of the doom2 iwad and then paste it into the pwad that I am trying to edit? then do I change the palette till i see fit. BTW are there any tutorials on how to do this? If there are can you direct me to them.

Yes, that's exactly what you need to do. You mean a tutorial like this?

1) Open Doom2 WAD
2) Find the PLAYPAL lump
3) Click Edit|Copy
4) Open you PWAD
5) Click Edit|Paste
6) Click the PLAYPAL lump
7) Double click the color you want to change and enter the new RGB values
