Use an advanced port that supports MAPINFO style scripting. That requires the least ammount of work - it also reduces the number of port's that'll be able to run your map.
OR
Add a couple more utilities to your toolkit. WhackEd2 (or the WhackEd3 beta) to create a Dehacked patch for the automap name change and DoomWord (or my personal favourite - Bitmap Font Writer with these fonts) to create a level name graphic for the stats screen. More work involved but compatible with all current ports.
