You knew something was wrong the minute you stepped into the lobby. You could feel it, but you tried to ignore the knot in your stomach as you went up the stairs. The night before, you had received a cryptic message from Allied Agent 17 asking you to meet him in Room 123 at the Hotel de la Mort in Paris. He had obtained information on a secret Nazi plan codenamed Operation: Rheingold, a plan Allied Command doesn't know about. It was extremely important, he said, that you meet with him as soon as possible. He was sure he was being tracked by the Gestapo, but he hoped he had shaken them off his tail long enough to pass the information along to you. Thanks to your years of undercover work, you snuck into the hotel undetected -- or so you thought. There was no answer when you knocked on the door of Room 123, and the fact that the door wasn't locked set off alarms in your head. Your fingers tightening on the .45 in your pocket, you slowly opened the door and stepped into the room. At first glance, nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but then you heard the sound of dripping water coming from the bathroom. Pulling your gun out into the open, you opened the bathroom door -- and there was Agent 17, lying in a pool of his own blood in front of the bathtub. Before you could react, voices started shouting in German out in the hallway, and you realized the Gestapo had caught up with Agent 17 and set a trap for you!

So begins Operation: Rheingold, a pulse-pounding WolfenDOOM adventure that leads you on a thrilling chase across Europe, from a Paris hotel to a mountain stronghold in the Bavarian Alps to the mythical worlds of Teutonic legend, as you try to evade the Gestapo and find out just what Operation: Rheingold actually is. Even if you find out, can you do anything to stop the Nazis from unleashing it on the world? Unlike previous WolfenDOOM scenarios, Operation: Rheingold's 21 levels will be divided into seven separate 3-level episodes, and each episode will feature its own enemies, look, and atmosphere.

EPISODE ONE: HOTEL OF DEATH Agent 17 summons you to a meeting at a Paris hotel, but he is killed by the Gestapo before he can pass along important information about Operation: Rheingold to you, and even worse, you find yourself the Gestapo's next target. EPISODE TWO: GESTAPO HEADQUARTERS After getting captured at the hotel, you're taken to Gestapo headquarters in Paris for interrogation and execution. Can you survive, escape, and evade the Gestapo long enough to retrace Agent 17's steps and find out what Rheingold is? EPISODE THREE: TO FIND THE MAQUIS After escaping from the Gestapo, you find out that Agent 17 left documents about Rheingold in a safety deposit box at a Swiss bank. With the Gestapo hot on your trail, you must flee Paris and head south, find a French resistance camp, and ask the Maquis to help smuggle you out of France and into Switzerland. EPISODE FOUR: ON TO SWITZERLAND After a train ride across the border loaded with danger, including a Gestapo assassin, you arrive in Geneva to get the plans from the safety deposit box only to find the bank is helping the Nazis. EPISODE FIVE: ACROSS THE TIROL After getting your hands on the plans, you finally find out what Rheingold is. Hitler has charged a general and a team of scientists with the task of finding the mythical Ring of the Nibelungs, a ring fabled to make whoever owns it invincible. Determined to foil Hitler's plan, you move through Austria on your way to Germany and have to fight Nazis on the ski slopes. EPISODE SIX: FESTUNG WALHALL You arrive at the heavily defended Fortress Valhalla in the Bavarian Alps to do battle with the maniacal general and scientist behind Rheingold, and to stop them from completing construction of an interdimensional gateway to the land of the Nibelungs. EPISODE SEVEN: THROUGH THE PORTAL After chasing the evil general through the portal, you find yourself in a mythical world of dwarves, elves, and dragons. Can you stop the general from finding the Ring, and destroy the portal permanently?
