The newest addition to my apartment, a lost kitten I have taken in. My existing cat is not getting along with this cat, but I love it to bits.

http://www.securitronlinux.com/files/magpie.jpg Look what I found. I was going for a walk and I found this Magpie lying on the ground. It was nighttime, so I think he might be unwell. I put it on the floor and it just laid there and toppled over. Its wings and feet are not damaged and he is not bleeding, so I am not sure what is wrong with it. I will have to wait until the following day and call WIRES wildlife rescue to have him seen to. |

I just bought a copy of the Simarillion today, I wanted a Tolkien novel and I managed to find a paperback copy in a second-hand bookstore. This novel spans a huge amount of time I know, but this will be a good read. I am currently trying to get through the Children of Hurin, that is also a good book, I can not wait to get to the Battle of Unnumbered Tears. And the story of Beren and Luthien. I am sure I made a good decision purchasing that book. And I also bought a huge thick book named: Vietnam, the Australian war. That will keep me going for quite a while. What books have other Doom fans purchased for themselves recently? And would it be possible to make The Silmarillion into a series of films or would this be impossible? |

I was in my house and I got in a serious fight with a drug addict "friend" of mine and I was quite scared as he had his mate with him and I was alone. I ended up grabbing my kitchen knife and stabbing him twice in the side. After that we were grappling on the floor of the kitchen both fighting for possession of the weapon in question. I ended up dropping the knife and convinced him to leave after giving his mate a tea towel to stem the bleeding with. I wish I was trolling with this story, but this really happened to me on Saturday night and I am still recovering with an injured spine and injured back rib, but I am otherwise fine. The Police and the detectives took my bloodstained clothes and my knives, and took a heap of pictures, but they ruled then and there that this was self defence and I will not be charged. I tell you now, fighting like that is terrifying, it looks glamorous in the movies, but in real life you are shitting yourself and screaming and yelling and writhing around in slick blood. Fighting for your life in reality is no fun at all. |

I can not believe that the Iraq war will cost 4,000,000,000,000 US dollars. The homeland will be in debt for the forseeable future, unless someone can bail out the Homeland and fix the massive debt. The wall street bankers just want to get wealth for themselves and they do not care about the average person at all. And there are evil reptiles like Janet Napolitano that run the Homeland as a police state with TSA agents and soldiers with guns all over the place. |

I have just switched to this layout and it is taking a bit of getting used to although it is supposed to be faster to type with. This was the default layout for typewriters was it not? I heard that they had to switch to Qwerty to slow down typists but it is doing that for me as well although the keys are actually pretty intelligently placed once you start typing with this layout. It grows on you like a mould. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvorak...ified_Keyboard. More information here. Once you get used to the new layout it is very good to type with, the necessary keys are closer together and since this is said to be a faster way to type, I decided to give it a try. Pullimg out the keys and putting them back in was a heap of fun and gives me a chance to clean out the dirt under the keys. Is anyone else going to join me?
