  1. The Panels of Peril

This is yet more stuff that arose during the design of The Butchery but was mostly not used for it. It is a set of BMP files containing 32x64 or 64x64 panels that cross-product various DOOM texture designs across other backgrounds in DOOM than the ones they were designed for.

For example, the pipework in TEKGREN4 and METAL4 doesn't have a COMP variant, so I made one. I then split it into top and bottom sections so that several variations were possible, in particular I could have created 128 or 256-wide textures or wall patches in various combinations.

The total number of combinations is HUGE, so I decided to release these only as individual parts and let people make their own as needed from them.

  5. ZelDoom (splitted version)

zelstuff.wad A sword for the chainsaw, a sling for the pistol, magic hands for the shotgun(s), a comic weapon for the plasma gun, a boxing glove for the fist and a comic knight replaces the pink demon. The status bar face is now a nice heart. zellev.wad A demo level with new graphics on the walls and floors. There is no chaingun in it, so there is no honest way to get it. Are you honest?

  6. T1000 LOOK A LIKES FOR DOOM 3D (PWAD-version)

The file replaces the pink demons with a T1000 look a like. It's not exactly like the T1000 in the T2 movie, but it's were the original idea came from. The graphics patch has the same upper body of the T1000 (Silver head, chest, arms etc..) His legs have been replaced with red extended arms. He attacks you by making a huge (I mean HUGE!!) spike come out off his stomach and hitting you. I have also put some sounds in too. I didn't change all the old demon sounds because I thought it was best to leave these. If you disagree add your own sounds.

This WAD changes the SS Nazi into a possessed marine with a shotgun. Use it to add another enemy that fits well without replacing others. It gets rid of the Pain Elemental's respawn frames (I had to steal a frame from somewhere.)

  12. Doom Noir

This is just a PLAYPAL/COLORMAP replacement that changes DOOM into a *mostly* black and white game. The red range is left as-is.

I originally put this together back in the late nineties and it languished on my hard drive afterwards. Sometime recently, I think it was the film "Sin City" that reminded me of this.

I looked around and there is another B&W PWAD called "ww-nfoir.wad". However it doesn't leave the red range alone: That's made B&W too.

I also threw in some new BSPLAT sprites taken from "gib.wad"; another PWAD sitting on my HD.

  17. [MKDooM]: CRINGE! --> Graphics-WAD

New Xtra BLOODY graphics! Check out the new Double-bladed Chainsaw, or the gold Chaingun and Rocket Launcher. Beware of the new character-The Son of the CyberDemon. Check out that death scene! Blue Demons, hanging chains with meat on it's hooks, plus a whole lot more. No more wondering who those guys hanging from the ceilings are; they're easily disinguished as your fellow Space Marine Officers who just weren't as good as you. This is the graphics patch for CRINGE! Totally external; never touches any of your original DOOM files.

  18. NMN Corporation Texture Set Part 1

No levels this time. What You have here is a full fledged ready to go texture set made by myself, fully. No fooling around such as combining Doom textures to make something new, nope, what You have here is 100% Brand Fresh from Scratch. The texture set was originally inspired by Quake 2 - a game that I missed while I've lost it. I've downloaded the Quake 2 Texture Wad (Props to Derek Mac Donald aka Afterglow) looked at all the beauty, got some ideas and started creating my own ones from scratch. In the latter time I've got my Quake 2 back on my comp, and after blasting some Stroggos I've decided.. that the set needs more textures :) I've also got some other inspiration and it all formed a very pleasent, dark, futuristic, desolated collection of graphics. I was going to build a level with them, but I've lost interest. Those were made in July when my project was paused, so in freetime I didn't fool around-I practiced :] Enjoy!

  21. Film Noir

The Maltese Falcon - a movie that was part of the "film noir" revolution of the late 40's and early 50's. Film noir was usually a movie that was filmed in black and white, with small-time staff and actors, and usually had dark and moody environments. Now, experience that in your Doom game. This WAD contains modified PLAYPAL and COLORMAP lumps that make it play in pure black and white. I left in the usual damage flash, so this is Deathmatch Safe.

  23. Black Gloves for the Doomguy

This is a simple graphics replacement that gives the Doomguy black gloves, much (or really exactly) like the ones Scuba Steve uses in a lot of his guns. They look quite badass, in my opinion. I made 'em all from scratch by modifying the regular gloves. I also threw in redglov.wad, just for laughs and giggles. It's the result of a mistake I made during the black glove thing. They're reddish-black, but it changes a lot from sprite to sprite. Enjoy everybody.

  24. Snake Imp

This wad contains replacement sprites for the Imp, it's a combination of that snake thing from Heretic and the Doom imp. I got the original idea from The Doom Beastiary (http://haunt.8m.com/beastiary/), more specific the Imp Serpent (on the imps page) created by Enjay. I didn't follow his design exactly, but the idea is similar, so I can't take credit for the design of this monster.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
