  1. Pumpkin HELL

A spooky/cheesy Halloween map with a distinct aroma of pumpkin spice and red echidnas.

This was originally mapped for Pigeon Speedmapping Session #2 hosted by Bonnie, but I wanted to flesh the concept out into a more substantial map.

The map should take about 10-20 minutes.

  2. Perilous Cavern

This map is set in a hellish environment where hellspawn will try to stop you no matter what. It uses scripting and UDMF format features. It was recycled from a map that was previously rejected in another project, so I gave a new life.

  5. Red Dust 1

Red Dust 1 takes place in the red dust zone in space. This can be a tribute to Zachary Stephen's Stardate WADs, since this one and the ones mentioned both take place in space. Some levels are relatively short and others can be extremely grindy. Just to warn players that in ZDoom-based engines, monster spawnfrags are possible, so stay out of the teleporting spots.

  6. Persephone

Persephone is my first "Best of" episode, featuring 10 previously-released maps all in one modern package. MAP05 (The Leak) was subtly edited, SECRET1 (Twisted Joke) and MAP08 (Abandon All Hope) have had significant work done to integrate the sprite replacements they featured into a larger work and CREDMAP1 (The Cast and Crew) was extensively altered to reflect this WAD, rather than Scourge.

  7. Pigeon Speedmapping Session 6: To Hell and Back

Unlike previous sessions, this used only one session, which happened 2018-07-07. As usual, mappers could use one of three provided themes. Themes were: 1. Use blue, red, grey/silver textures mostly. Other textures can go as support. 2. Lots of curves. 3. No items which can increase player's health and armor to 200%. Time limit was 3 hours + one hour for final touches.

  8. The Quirky Domain

This map was made for a closed group project that was abandoned. I didn't want the map to go to waste so I decided to release it stand-alone.

It uses a lot of non-euclidean geometry as its gimmick (portals). Also, Nightmare! difficulty has its own monsters/items separate from Ultra-Violence and is without respawning monsters.

There is no backstory/excuse plot here. Have fun!

  10. rustbelt

rustbelt.wad is a medium-sized map with an uneasy atmosphere. The fog that covers the outside and open areas gives the map a feeling of mystery as you go through it. The textures are from the NMNCorp Texture Pack 1 and I used some textures that makes the map look sort of like Quake 1. All of my custom assets I got from Realm667.

  11. Pigeon Speedmapping Session 5: The X-Files

This is a speedmap project which the mappers did maps with a set of 3 themes (non-obligatory to do all 3 themes) and had a time limit of 3-4 hours for both sessions. The themes were sky/alien maps, 333 thing count and floor/ceiling texture change with a fourth bonus theme which is platforming. The session happened in April 7th, 2018.

  12. Port Glacia

Originally a map for Jimmy's Joy Of Mapping 5, I ended up pulling it as it had gotten too large and ambitious, and its size & length would have really bogged down what was already a hefty community project. This allowed me the chance to polish the map up to a higher standard, as the original JOM project limited mapping time to only 72 hours. Most of the map was done during that period, but more time was needed to re-do a couple areas and rework some progression, as well as complete detailing and thing placement. Funny that I get ~90% of this done in 3 days, then spend the next 4 months procrastinating on getting the rest done.

  14. Pigeon Speedmapping Session 4 -- Guns of the Birds

This is a 6-level mapset with themes previously decided and built within a 4-hour timelimit and 2 sessions were used. Main session happened at 2018-02-03.

Themes for this session were: 1. Use only bars, floor/ceiling lower and raising actions to seal players from monsters or puzzle solution. No door actions are used except for locked switches and bars. 2. Tactical usage of berserk. (Place a berserk pack). 3. Add slaughter area. Bonus theme was: 4. Damaging blood textures.

  15. Waste Abandonment

Scour the corroded and desolate halls of abandoned waste. Rusted, leaky barrels of toxicity are your only friends here. The acidic stench of nuclear pollution fills the air as the demonic mother-lode awaits your challenge. Will you survive?

"Waste Abandonment" is a single map replacement for Doom 2, slotted on MAP08. This is my take on a pure tech-base styled map, and it utilized only stock Doom 2 resources to create its aesthetic.

  17. Project: Kate

Kaitlyn Anne Fox was my best friend. Now she's gone. Her sudden departure has punched a hole in my soul. The community has lost a beautiful imagination and an undeniable talent.

During the course of the five years that I came to know her personally, I made maps for her birthday on two occasions - these are the first two maps in this set. The third map was made after her passing. An outpouring of emotion went into this map's creation, and it may be a bit "heavy", for want of a better word, especially for those who were at all close to her. Just a warning there, I guess.

Rest in peace, my sweet Kate. I already miss you like nothing else. I loved you. I still do. I love you so fucking much.

  18. Painful Cave

This is a speedmap that I was inspired by the speedmap sessions like the Pigeon Speedmap Session wad considering the limitations of the themes. This map was remade for the original map that I did. Expect some difficulty and some surprises and see if you can find the secrets...hehehehehe

  19. Recurring Nightmare

A speedmap I made for a speedmapping project, which I subsequently decided to instead release stand-alone. Original version of the map was made in a little under 4 hours, and the final version took an extra 2-3 hours of additional polishing, gameplay tweaking, automap cleanup, and all that other lovely stuff. The speedmapping stipulations I followed for this map were: use only 6 textures & 6 flats (not including skies); and 46 monsters. I decided to round up the monster count to a clean ~~~50 Monsters~~~ when I was polishing the gameplay.

  20. Pigeon Speedmapping Session 2 -- Too Many Birds

The goal of this speedmapping session was to create maps within a 3 hour time limit. Overall, we ended up with 14 maps, made using the following themes:

    1) Maximum of 6 textures and 6 flats; 2) Maximum of 46 monsters; 3) Boxes!! Crates!!! Heck it, e2m2!! Yay!!!; Bonus 1) Only use cc4-tex.wad textures; Bonus 2) Every adjoining sector must be a different height (at least 4 units difference).

Only one theme needed to be used.

Maps were created on 11/4/17, during two separate sessions throughout the day. Map09 was removed and replaced with a buffer level of sorts.

  21. Paranoiac

14-map hub set in the Black Mesa military-industrial facility within the Half-Life universe. Following the escape of your character, Rolf Bellmer, after uploading a computer virus into the Black Mesa databanks, you seem to emerge victorious. Unfortunately, the sinister forces of the government and the aliens have other plans for you. The game is story-driven and features multiple objectives. It uses the excellent textures of Half-Life, sprite-based enemies and non-player characters from Half-Life, models (some of them interactive), true 3D environments and other features of GZDooM. Tested with GZDooM

  22. DoomGuy Gets a Puppy

Still despondent over the loss of his beloved rabbit Daisy, DoomGuy retires to the French Riviera to spend the rest of his days eating cheese and not fighting demons. One day on the way to his favorite cafe, he happens to pass by the local pet emporium, run by a certain M. and Mme. Poulet. In the window, he sees Imelda Barkos, the cutest Yorkshire terrier in France. His heart skips a beat. A kind of happiness he had not known since Daisy's death suddenly seems within reach! But as he enters the pet store, he hears a shout: "Sacre bleu! Ze Doom homme! Ee must not get ze puppy!" Suddenly, M. Poulet is blocking his path. Mme. Poulet grabs Imelda and heads for the back door. "Ha!" she cackles as a strange green portal opens around the door, "You weel never conquer our demonic castle! Errr.... not zat ze dog weel be zere!"

tl;dr--You DoomGuy. Find doggy, kill demons.

  23. Pepsi Apocalypse

Do you like a soda-themed level? Here you have it; Pepsi Apocalypse. It has a lot of red, gray, and blue to match the colors of a Pepsi logo. Music is "Wicked Child" from Castlevania. Credit goes to Chris Balch for the Slaughterfest 2012 thread that included the textures that I used, which include sf2012-tex, cc4-tex, GOTHICTX, q1tex, and NB_RECOL, as well as for the title screen and the intermission. Additional credit goes to the person who made level 39 from Chillax because this level is inspired by it.

  24. Running Late

Small, 5 level mini wad I've been working on since late October of last year. Levels are short and action packed.

After spending most of the year on single mapping projects, I decided to try my hand at building a small, continuous wad.

Levels were designed for pistol start.

Utilizes mostly vanilla Doom textures, with a few new graphics here and there.

All maps were built in Boom format using GZDoomBuilder.

Runs in GZDoom, ZDoom, PRBoom+ and GLBoom+ (May not run in Zandronum).

    *Story*

You are a security guard, stationed at a remote UAC facility. You show up to your shift one evening only to discover the entire base has been overrun by demons.

    *Levels List*

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
