  2. Shadows of The Nightmare Realm

Hell was defeated by a lone marine. But what no one knew was that there was a far greater and nigh inconceivable evil lurking beyond our realm: the Elder Gods. They saw how Hell had failed and felt it was now their time to succeed. They knew of the Doomguy's strength, and decided to attack him in the one place he's vulnerable: in his nightmares.

Shadows of The Nightmare Realm takes place within the dreams of the Doomguy, each one manipulated by the Elder Gods.

  3. Mayan Mishap

Five maps, loosely Mayan in setting, with an assortment of DeHacked changes to alter monster behavior and a few other things. Notably, some monsters and projectiles are faster than their vanilla counterparts. If you typically play maps on UV, I would definitely recommend HMP for your first playthrough to avoid any potential frustration. Similarly, if you usually play on HMP by default, dropping the difficulty down to HNTR would probably be a good idea. UV is certainly doable on a first playthrough though, if you fancy yourself a challenge.

MBF-compatible port is needed for play. (G)ZDoom recommended, but also designed to work in PrBoom+ at complevel 11.

  11. UAC Ultra (v1.2)

    You're a Space marine...

Disease. An incurable though tangible threat. The demons prowl among the scorched barrens of Mars. Fleets of cacodemons infest every region. Spectres and imps swarming from every crevice. Deep down under Mars' subterra lies UAC's immense labyrinth of superhuman technology. The underground top secret lair of their most horrific experiments, buried in distress.

    This is UAC Ultra.

An 11 (and a half) map levelset for Doom 2 featuring all new textures, a new monster, new music and several other small touches. Difficulty will hopefully keep you on your feet without being ridiculous.

The texture set is available as ultratex.wad

v1.2 fixes bugs on all maps. Plus it works with Eternity. Thanks esselfortium and Doomworld!

  16. Stardate 20X6

Stardate 20X6 is a set of 8 boom-compatible levels that are all about the color purple. I couldn't think of a wad that extensively used the color so I decided to spend some time and completely overdose on it. The levels meander through underground and space-station themes, and are filled with all sorts of abstract violet goodness. Much of the gameplay resembles the arena style typically found in slaughtermaps, but the monster counts (in general) aren't overwhelmingly high. The maps are very difficult, with UV hopefully presenting a worthy challenge even for veteran doomers. HMP is also implemented, and is intended for casual playthroughs.

  21. TurboCharged ARCADE! (Demo Release)

First off, I would like to state one... statement. This is NOT a jokewad.

Yes, the levels are not exactly the most serious. Yes, some detailing looks like it's been done by a two-year old. However, if someone asks if this is the newest successor to the SHiTWADS regime, the answer is a firm NO.

TurboCharged ARCADE! is not intended to be screwy, but to be different. An experimental wad by nature, TcA focuses on putting the player in odd situations, which require different techniques and ideas to beat them. It's sort of a throwback to the old days of arcade games, with short, sharp levels and a bit of freedom to choose whichever type of level suits your fancy.

In TcA, you can take a journey to foreign hellish landscapes, dive across rooftops whilst dodging bullets in slow motion, escape from insanely overpopulated prisons, and face off against the devilish Adolf Hitler in a showdown for the ages... all in whatever sequence you desire!

A core aspect to the gameplay in TurboCharged ARCADE! is the fact that the entire game's speed has been doubled. Enemies attack twice as fast, weapons are souped-up and speedy, and you'll be running for your life at top-speed in almost every situation. The action is non-stop, and the increased speed will test the reflexes of even the most hyperactive individuals.

TcA's intentions don't stop there, either... on top of the wild-and-crazy gameplay aspects, this wad is also intended to be funny as all hell. With all sorts of ridiculous situations, overly-retarded parodies, and over-the-top randomness, I'm hoping that everyone will have to stop playing at least once because they're laughing too damn hard to keep themselves alive. :P

However... as you may have noticed, this release is only a very tiny 8-level demo release of TcA. What, you may ask, will the full version offer? Imagine, obscene amounts of levels with incredibly varied styles of gameplay and difficulty. Sporting a new interactive level-selection system and hours upon hours of random gameplay, TcA will feature just about everything but the kitchen sink!

Anyway, enough with the salesman-type advertising... This guy may not be finished for a LONG time, but in the mean time, stay tuned at the ZDoom forums, as I'm pretty sure that the full version will feature a whole slew of levels from all over the community... as I simply can't crank out all of them on my own. :P

In the meantime, download and enjoy this small sample of things to come. Have fun, doggamnit! :P

  22. Umbra of Fate

A man is on vacation and is out enjoying a day of hunting while his wife and infant son are at home. After a long and boring day, he starts walking back to his car, only to discover a ravine that wasn't there before. Feeling an unusually strong urge to find out what lurks beyond the ravine, he jumps down into it and heads out into the dark, foggy forest night.

Umbra of Fate is something of a personal experiment where I try to push the type of gameplay I enjoy to the limit.

  23. Torn

This is the first non-speedmapping map I have released.

The map is launched on level 12 in order to use the right sky texture, it was originally going to be a part of the Nova III release.

Torn is a tribute to Sunder, taking inspiration from several maps, mostly from Pale Monument.

A few components from it are copied and tweaked (a staircase, two large pillars, and two detailing elements).

The building exterior across from the was based on one of the maps in Nova III, which was supposed to create continuity.

Other than that, it's entirely original.
