  1. DooM Vacation

This is a conversion of the Duke Nukem 3D add-on "Duke Caribbean - Life's a Beach" by Wizard Works that is no longer being sold.

The Win-Duke3Ds have no client/server support and I always wanted to play this online. So I made a conversion of it for Zdaemon and such. Also the Duke Vacation addon was not very coop friendly - with some levels that you couldn't continue on if you got killed. In some of the levels you could even get stuck in single player if you were not careful.

  2. Spidersilk

A dungeon map with a strange layout. Skill 3 & 4 are linear while skill 2 (marked especially so you can immediately see there's an alternate game mode) is a mad dash for supplies. Some monster behaviour has been changed!

  3. Zen Dynamics

One seemingly random day, I was sitting around doing nothing... when it hit me: The perfect way to make true reloading weapons in Zdoom. It worked like a charm in an example wad I put together, but I thought that a simple demo wad with a single test level would not do the reloading trick any justice... so two weeks later, I brought you this: Zen Dynamics, a Zdoom Revolution.

Zen is a 7-level partial conversion, with 10 new guns, complete with reloading, new baddies, music, textures, you name it. It has some pretty damn memorable moments, particularly in Map04 and Map07, and is not just some quickly thrown together wad.

This wad was originally released on the ZDoom forums, as a "public beta" of sorts, before releasing to the /idgames archive for all you crazy people to enjoy. :P

The initial release only took two weeks to finish, but as always, it was littered with random bugs and such. I released several revisions that fixed said bugs, but I got bored at just fixing minor stuff... so for the fabled 2.0 release, I added several things: a new level, a new weapon, and some story elements and such.

And now, I present you with the Anniversary Edition, packed with tons and tons of new features -- Altfires, Two more new weapons, and a brand-new map, Core Zero, perfect for mass-destruction addicts! :P

Yes, there's a small storyline involved, with the usual stuff like gateways and UAC and such, but the intro does a pretty good job at telling it, IMO. :P

The highlight of the wad is probably the weapons, which are pretty much a first in Zdoom history. Just the combination of advanced weaponry with Zdoom features like ACS and portals (which I know you'll love so much more after you've played Map04).

Either way, it's been way too long since I've released anything memorable, and I guarantee you will not forget this wad. :P Sorry for all the bragging and such, but hey.... it's true. :P

  5. Vulkan (Episode 1) v1.2

Seven-level episode featuring some new graphics, monsters, weapons, pickups, mechanics, basically anything that grabbed my attention at the time.

Venture down into the Vulkan power station, a promising side project by UAC that as usual accidentally drilled into Hell and summoned an army of bloodthirsty demons.

  6. Vanguard

12 Boom format levels for PrBoom+, ZDoom, or Eternity. A bonus 13th level is included for laughs. Inspired by Speed of Doom, Scythe 2, Alien Vendetta, and Plutonia.

Originally Vanguard was intended to be a 32-level speedmapped megawad inspired by Speed of Doom's development cycle and Scythe 2's episodic structure.

  7. Water Spirit

Water Spirit is three maps I have made for a year, with lots of enemies and detailed architecture. The feel is intended to be slightly moody, but with lots of action and danger that will test the player.

I hope this wad will be a memorable and fun experience. I'm really confident about the maps in this wad. I believe you will enjoy them if you check them out! Water Spirit has been tested in prboom-plus-2.5.1.4, zdoom-2.8.1 and gzdoom-bin-2-2-0-x64. I recommend you should use them.

  9. The Warlock's Hearth

Your world is collapsing around you and your only hope is a portal leading to further danger. Once home to a powerful warlock, his demonic minions are now free to use his magical abode to open portals to distant lands as they see fit. They should be stopped.

The Warlock's Hearth is a very large map for limit-removing ports with an emphasis on atmosphere, exploration and enjoyable fights that still challenge the player without putting the pressure on all the time. The map features an .ogg soundtrack courtesy of Der Wolfmensch (Marco from Decoded Feedback's sideproject).

  11. Vae Victus 2

Vae Victus II is an all new level set for Doom 2 utilizing new graphics and music. The episode consists of 7 levels of varying themes and difficulty. The first Vae Victus was an attempt to honor the traditional gameplay of Alien Vendetta and other classic megawads; however, VV2 is a more balanced approach that provides challenging battles without the swarms of roaming enemies. The architecture is improved over last year's offering, and is more refined in it's concept and design. I am a classic doomer at heart, so I decided to keep this wad compatible with every source port that allows for limit removing. Co-op play is also supported, as are difficulty settings. In addition, every map can be beat from pistol starts.

If you enjoyed Vae Victus, I have no doubt that you'll enjoy Vae Victus II.

  12. Vae Victus

A 7 level "episode" for Doom 2 utilizing new textures and music. For fans of Deus Vult and Alien Vendetta. There are only two difficulty settings: Normal (easy and medium) and hard. The most noticable areas of difficulty change is in key areas, such as replacing an archville with a baron of hell (for example). Normal difficulty is a toned down version while Ultra Violence is what makes VV fun. My advice is to play it on UV, and if it proves too much, play it on normal. However, Map06 in particular is quite hard on UV.

Par completion time is around 80-120 minutes depending on the player; however it will take most players longer than 120 minutes the first time around. Co-Op play is not only an option, it's preferred! Load it up, get some friends, and have some fun. ZDoom is recommended. Some enviroments in the later maps might be too big for older computers slower than 1.0 ghz.

A tip for people who are going to complain about map06: In order to get the gate to lower, you must find a series of teleporters which will take you to various locations in the hills that will lead to the switch. The first teleport is located behind the marble face in the lava. This is completely beatable. And as always, save often.

As for map07, I decided to include it in this release simply because I wasn't about to release a dead simple remake in a 5 meg texture pack :)

  13. Xen Level Pack!

This was the longest I ever worked on anything ever, other than that one time I built a watergun to shoot my sister with when I was six. Hmph. Well, the first 2 levels were made to make fun of 90s wads, which explains the 90s sounds and HUD. Map03 i decided to step up the detailing. Map03, Map04, and the beginning of Map05 were inspired by UACMC (UAC Mutation Complex), the rest was inspired by KDIZD. Map07 was the longest I worked on any map ever, mostly due to scripting complications. By the way *********** DON'T PLAY ON (G)ZDOOM, PLAY ON SKULLTAG *********** so play it now! NOW1!!!111

  14. Vrack 2

This is a giant space station in the gray and tech theme. It is crumbling with hellspawn and filled with deadly traps.
This is a little more like I wanted to have the original Vrack. More detail, more metal, more big enemies, less linear. I have spent a LOT of time with this level, so I hope it gets better than its precursor.
But it was a very hard mission. Vrack was believed by many to be one of the best levels ever created. In most aspects, I think Vrack 2 improves over Vrack. But there are some things, such as the caco intro in Vrack, that in my opinion were perfect - and really hard to substitute :| ...
Still, I hope you will find this level enjoyable!

  15. The [ZDoom Community Map] Project "Take 1"

One evening, just about 2 months ago, I had this idea of creating just one ZDoom map together with some other mappers and friends. Well, who else could be mor qualified as the ZDoom.org community itself? :) That was the day, when I opened a new thread over at the ZDoom forums and telling those people my plans, and the rest is just history which can be read over at: http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=2935 By the way, this is the longest thread ever in the history of Forums@ZDoom.org with over 1000 replies (no spam) and over 10.000 views, amazing, isn't it? :) Thx goes to all the contributors, they really worked hard and also very fast, so this could be released within one month of developement!

  17. Whitemare

Megawad, based on "winter" theme from Russian Doom Community. The demons have decided to ruin the winter's fun of Christmas and New Year's celebrations to people, so your task is prove those stupid bastards wrong. The base of this megawad are 12 improved maps (map 01 - map 06, map 08-map 11, map 14, map 16) from speedmapping contests ¹5, which took place on 19.12.2010 on iddqd.ru forum. The rest levels were added some time later, some maps were seriously reworked, and others have been put in wad almost without any changes at all. Have a good game.

  20. Vrack 2

This is a re-release of Vrack 2. This version contains the following fixes:

    * People complained that I hadn't built a REJECT table, so their computers went slow with the level. Here you go, a brand spanking REJECT table. Built with Zennode, as RMB crashed with a runtime error after 0.2 seconds.
    * Skies fixed. They are all truly double and authentic now. There are Vrack(1)-style streaks visible if you look close, but you don't see them unless you really look for them. I might add that these streaks will NOT be present in Vrack 3, I was just too lazy to remove them for a crappy re-release like this.
    * Added deathmatch starts. Dunno why, I think it could be fun somehow. I might try myself some day.
    * Updated this text file with appropriate fixes (new file, site, e-mail addresses, changes, etc.

Otherwise, this is the same map as vrack2.wad.

I did NOT modify gameplay anything. You people who complained about this map being too hard: Don't play it on UV unless you ARE a mad maniac. It's enjoyable on skill levels 1-3.

  24. ZanZan - Gzdoom Version

This is a conversion of the excellent Total Convesion for Doom by Edmundo Bordeau named Zanzan, where you play an immortal (not anymore) ruler of your planet. You plan on destroying a planet, that, as you believe, will lead to a war in the future. One of your servants does not agree with that, so when Zanzan, or you, sleep for one year, your former servant plans a rebelion against you to stop you from destroying the above mentioned planet. The very planet is .. Earth. Refer to Zanreadme.txt for more information. This TC had originally been built for a, now defunct, version of Zdoom's open Gl sourceport- Zdoomgl. The very old version (0.66) had md2 models support, which this mod uses extensively to create a new gaming environment. With the addition of md2 models support to Graf Zahl's excellent Zdoom sourceport-Gzdoom, I, Paul at DRD or Nmn, have taken care of making a version of the TC to run under Gzdoom. One of the reasons was that the old version of ZDoomgl the original TC requires can cause trouble to either set up, or display things properly. Another reason was that Gzdoom is more popular nowadays. Last reason was that I wanted more people to play this mod, as I think, without any hyperbole, it's very likely the best wad ever made, even if having only 3 levels. Have fun!

  25. Water Works

"Oh no, looks like this buildings water works are over run with more damn demons.

This would be less of an issue if this wasn't in a strategic location that would assist greatly in the liberation of planet Reaver from the demonic horde.

But, you know, it IS a strategic location and we bloody need it! Get this place under control damn it!"

This is another one of my random (somewhat related to each other) TNT maps I make for PrBoom, this one occupies the MAP16 slot.

It involves tight corridor fighting (as per usual) and is par the course so far.

    Enjoy (?)

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
