  2. Up&down.wad

If you feel like you are on a roller coaster after playing this WAD, don't be suprised! It was made so you can go up and down WITHOUT having to pay the amusement park ticket prices. Instead, you can go up and down and frag your friends for hours! Every weapon is here, including the firemace >:) so for those of you that like to dominate the other players, this WAD is for you!

  3. Tower v1.0

"Tower" is an add-on level for the -registered- version of Heretic by id software. It was created using Waded v1.81R by Matthew Ayres and HEU v1.0b by Josh Martel & Tom Mustaine. This is my first attempt at a level, and was created as a test, and to have something new to play in Deathmatch games. Named for the predominant Tower w/ winding staircase in the first room.. this level basically is a few large rooms with various extras added in. Intended mostly for Deathmatch play, it can also be played in Co-op or single player mode, since there are -many- monsters roaming around. There is also a secret area with transporters to let you appear in various places to startle your opponent. ;) Try flapping your wings when you hit a dead end.. or just keep walking along the walls until ya go through one. Difficulty levels are active, but whatever level you start on... be prepared for an onslaught.

  4. Telehell.wad

This WAD has few doors...and fewer places to hide! It is small, so you don't have to spend an hour looking for your buds(?) to frag 'em. Check the map often, because this level is full of teleports, and it is hell if you get lost!

  6. SMK Heretic Deathmatch v1.1

This is a small Heretic DM map modeled after the second battle arena in the SNES game Super Mario Kart. I've included the music from that map, as well as the same layout. The design leads to lots of fast-paced battles as you can always see the other players!

I have made some small changes since the last version to accomodate more players' tastes and to balance things a bit more. The Morph Ovums proved to be devastating in such a wide open area, so I removed them. I also took out the Tome of Power because it was very easy to exceed the maximum visible sprite limit with it. The exit is now in the middle, since not everyone wants to have a timer to leave a map.

In addition, there are now enemies on skills above Easy. On Medium difficulty, a few Gargoyle Leaders appear over the water and attack. On Hard, there is now a Maulotaur in the arena! While he can't get close enough to dash or use some of his other moves, the flames he CAN use prove to be a major pain. Only recommended for DM players who seek a challenge.. of course you can always turn off monsters or play on a lower skill level if these creatures bother you.

Note that since this level is E6M1, you'll need to use the warp code (engage), or the '-warp' command line parameter.

  7. Heretic DM #1

Small deathmatch WAD with different skill levels for different items. This may not look so detailed first, but in fact it's so detailed that I had to remove some stuff from it, to keep Heretic from crashing with Visplane Overflow error :)

  10. Shrine of Death

This is my third ewad. This is a wide open area with a ledge running around the entire outside with a large shrine in the center. There is a lot of water here so you have to be a good aim with the Firemace or it will splash in the water and disappear on inpact. There are several levels, but they are the same so there can be a variety of skies and musics.

  17. Super Duper Stud Deathmatch Level

A very studly first level by me. It has secret rooms and special sniper places and every type of weapon. It has the MIGHTY PIT OF DEATH and some other special things like that. Look for the secret rooms in the sniper spots. For more answers, play the level and do not contact me because that will make me sad and I will cry.

This supports any type of play except coop because there are no monsters, but if you really want to play coop you can, it just means that you are a little special.

I didn't replace anything with any studly Metallica or Megadeth for your heavy metal action.

  19. THE Heretic Deathmatch WAD

NO plot in this one guys, Heck does anyone know the plot in Heretic anyway? Not quite as famous as the ol' UAC story. Oh well, it's still quite a good game.So here is THE Deathmatch WAD (my first for Heretic). Quite a nice layout. 105 sectors in there... and my first WAD with monsters. You might want -NOMONSTERS. As for ammo and energy, well, not too much. I don't like Deathmatching when you can stock up on ammo and become incincible. Makes for a much closer (and FUN) DM if you are pretty equal. Secrets: there is one. but you can find that .

  20. Temple of Killtradan

The Temple of Killtradan (E1M1) came from one of my recent Dungeons & Dragons adventures so the ideas were already supplied. Detail, Imagery, and playability are off the scale First of 3 Levels by me. Others finished will be uploaded soon. Some say I am the best deatmatch writer out here. All levels made for 4 player network deathmatch. Are like no others.

  21. StealthELF (redone for HERETIC from AGMax.wad)

It's better than the stuff says below. uhhh..... just play it. you see... I just left this stuff from the original AGMax wad.... and now adapted from stealth.wad too! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Like AG Assault, one guy on platform, other guy hides behind barriers, lotsa weapons and stuff. Nice cool music to set the tone. Sometimes both guys end up on the same level. This is really fun - chasing the other guy around the 'arena', like a wild goose hunt.

    -=- Play stealth2.wad NOW! -=-

  22. SCRAMBLE

A great deathmatch wad for up to 4 players. Lots of combat! I wanted a wad that had many opportunities to meet your opponant, plus sound clues to help locate him.... I was also tired of battles that went on forever due to all the health lying around in some wads. So health is minimal, but available. All weapons are available, but can sometimes be hard to get to. The egg is great, but tricky to get without getting shot!

picture this, you've played Eternal Doom multiple times, went through all sorts of nice-looking medieval landscapes, and got rather used to the styles used in the Return resource pack. you feel a feeling that you want to play more in terms of Eternal Doom style levels, well, gaspe has you covered with Legacy of Heroes. it's first few levels aren't too long, for granted, but once you hit MAP05, that's when you know. combat is consistent and workable, as is progression at least until you get past MAP05. you'd especially be hard-pressed for several secrets, specifically the BFG ones in MAP08 (the longest one), and MAP09 (one that is easy to get lost in). heck, MAP07 is also easy to get lost in, hence the title. the dual boss at the end may actually be somewhat disappointing, plus there's some parts of progression which may cause an eyeroll, but for the most part legher.wad does provide a decent experience.

Hellbound Review   - My second time playing this with a year in between. - UV Difficulty   The Good: -  Has puzzles, which I love! -  Progressive Maps, as in the next one continues from the previous and the Maps are not linear. -  Excellent progressive degree of difficulty. -  Not a slaughterfest, but not easy either. -  Plenty of everything to keep you alert, yet alive. -  Loads of secrets – most are clever and rewarding. -  Awesome Hellish themes in some of the later Maps. -  Later Maps are huuuuuuge; Map 29 (Ascension) must have taken a helluva long time to create, just as the Author states in the description of it. Use your Rocket Launcher and/or BFG when you get to it. The rest of your weapons are obsolete at this point.   The Bad: -  Absolutely disliked Map 30. A whole lot of running around in the “poison lava” pit.   In Short: All and all, Hellbound was a blast. You’re going to work for the keys from Map 21 and onward because they aren’t just lying around.   Map 17 (Starport) and Map 26 (Forbidden Archives) were my faves. I remember reading "Doomworld’s Top 100 Memorable Doom Maps" that Starport was ranked #80. So there ya go!   Despite disliking Map 30, I’m still giving this WAD 5 out of 5 Stars. One Map is hardly enough to deduct from the other 31 awesome Maps. Definite replay value. Bravo! Thanks for making it!

An excellent E4 replacement. Good use of traps. Window and ledge fighting is common, but complacency invites a hellstorm of imp fireballs from afar. The custom textures fit the eerie aesthetics, although the design is somewhat generic and some maps snag the player along jutted wall lips. Disappointing new sounds as there were no weapons changes, yet are horribly distorted, abrupt, and tonally blase. Nothing a mod can't overcome. Ammo and medkit shortage encourages safe gameplay.

A mix of good and bad maps. Worth playing for the good. In particular, Map07 by Fatal is a long, but satisfying adventure with sparse doors, U-loops and window overlooks galore, excellent use of button and line trips, and balanced ammo and medkits. Map12 by Epsi would be absolutely superb with more texture variety and a few more interconnecting loops, but still quite enjoyable. Map19 by DaniMetal is tight and overuses sidewalk sector details, but otherwise fantastic level design.

Does a fantastic job at mimicking Doom II, but as a result doesn't deliver as tight of an experience (through no fault of the mappers, that's just the Doom II style). Really recommended if you enjoyed the first one.
