  7. Patch for A L I E N I N V A S I O N

This is a patch that should fix the problem that is associated with certain early versions of Doom2 1.666, where the screen garbles up into a big pile of muck when you enter a level. With some help from numerous people - sorry I can't remember everyone who helped(but thanx!) - I was able to trace it to being a problem that exists with DeHacked 3.0 and how it works with this particualar version of Doom. The weird thing is that some copies of Doom2 1.666 actually work and others didn't. This patch should work for all versions of Doom2 - I hope....

  11. ALIEN INVASION 1.2 Upgrade

This is a patch to repair some bugs that were brought to my attention by some players...Mainly the problem with the game crashing on level one whenever you loaded a new game or died has been fixed, as well as a few subtle structural flaws in a couple of the other levels.

This is a very good example of what you could do with aliens. It has some ideas I thought up, and some I borrowed. These ideas could only be used in aliens.

  14. AL|ENS-TOTAL CONVERSION for Ultimate DOOM v1.9

This is an update of the ATC program for DOOM v1.9, updated for use with Ultimate DOOM v1.9.

I did not create the ATC module itself, merely modified it for use with Ultimate DOOM. Give credit to Justin Fisher, he's the one who did all the work. :)

  15. ALIEN INVASION 1.1 (disk 1)

Second release of total conversion patch, rebuilt levels, new graphics and effects. There are some vast improvements over the first release, which should be seen immediately. Foremost are the aliens themselves, which have reworked graphics and behavior patterns which make them more real then ever. Warriors now attack in different ways, which is much cooler, because it looks kind of stupid when they always bite you the same way, especially when there are ten of them at the same time that are attacking you. Sometimes they run across the ceilings(those graphics where redone better this time too) and hang on walls. Sometimes they will claw you and sometimes they will bite. The queen has been redone a bit as well as some of the weapons. The levels have been extensively rebuilt, using much more real logic then before(no more ammo lying around unless there is a body next too it, etc...) and several have been replaced by much better(and bigger) levels. There were some sound bugs before(marines making alien sounds) that have been fixed too.

  18. ALIENS: The Co-Op Levels

This is a 3-level .WAD I decided to make after downloading the Aliens DOOM graphics/sound patch off the Internet. The levels that came with this patch really sucked, so I decided to make my own for single and Co-Op play. These levels feature realistic lighting, lots of attention to detail and tons of action. Hope you enjoy it!

  22. CEILING XENOMORPH

    A new Xenomorph that runs across the ceiling for anybody out there building Aliens conversions, that replaces the Baron of Hell. There is another one I've seen that does the ceiling thing, but that one is kind of lame and doesn't have very good action at all. This guy was made from a regular ground dwelling dude from one of the other patches and redrawn a bit for life running across the ceiling. I had to squish him up a bit and redraw some of the tails and arms and stuff, and do a little rearranging of the pictures to give it a realistic crawling motion, with a violent, tail whipping, teeth gnashing attitude, but the final result was well worth it;}

  23. alitcfix.zip

This ZIP contains the 2 levels E2M1 and E3M2 of ALIENS-TC without bugs. In these levels (which have the same map), the big pillar in the left corner of the first big room had a bug : when looking at it, the computer slows down dramatically (especially when playing cooperatively). All will work properly if you take this file.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
