  2. CAMPE.ZIP

As you wake up in the morning you ask yourself: "What's going on here? Where am I?" The last thing you can remember is going to bed after a long night of playing DOOM II on your computer. As you open your eyes you slowly realize that you are sitting in a classroom in your school. You think to yourself: "Oh no, did I fall asleep in class again?" You look up from the table and see your teacher writing something on the black board. You wonder:"Oh, he grew a beard. .... on his BACK?" At once you're awake. You notice a shotgun to your right and a big spider outside.

    "OOOHHH NOOOO, I'M DOOMED."

"I have to find a way out of this level!!!"

  3. purdue.zip

This PWAD file is a model of Purdue University's Engineering campus. It was created by Scott Schuricht using DEU 5.0 and BSP 1.1x and took up way too much of my time, but hey, is there anything more important than DOOM :-)

  5. HSFC.WAD

Lot's of wad's of offices and universities have been made over the years, and now with interest in Doom dwindling due to the advent of quake, we are ready to release the definitive Doom II reconstruction of a real building. This WAD recreates Hartlepool 6th Form College located on the North East coast of England. This college could practically have been built to be made into a Doom level. The structure of the college is ideal for deathmatch with many open corridors and stuff leading to deadly crossfire situations. All monsters have been replaced with staff and students of the college, music and sounds have also been replaced and a compehensive dehacked patch has been created to facilitate the realism. The level can also be played in simulator mode (1st 2 skill levels) to get to know the building. This wad represents almost a years worth of hard work and incorporates many recent innovations in wad design. Play it, be amazed, tell your friends, and spend the next year waiting for the upcoming Quake version.

  6. SCHOOL DOOM II

MAP01: This level represents a real school- building, "Gymnasium Nilu". (No, it's not a gym, it means something like High School or 6th Form.) The building has four floors, with stairs replaced by teleporters which look like stairs. The point is to kill the teachers and students and drink their beer. Imagine yourself stuffing the teachers with lead, looking for the Blue Key through classrooms filled with hostile students, and attacking the Party Hall during a play.
MAP02: Sewer (yes, we have played both Dark Forces and Hexen :). Fully imaginary and dark maze without AutoMap but with lots of ammo: use flame thrower as a radar! Cheaters watch out!
MAP03: The park has trees, a hanging rope and lots of guys waiting to be hanged. This level was built especially for Coop games, where one must be sacrificed for many.
MAP04: This level, "Gymnasium J-Norssi", is an another schoolbuilding. It's also one of the hugest levels ever made for DOOM or DOOM II (in fact, the largest one we have seen!) There are two floors, filled with classrooms. In addition to the stairs, there's an elevator. This means of course elevator jazz musak! There are a lot of switches scattered around the school. Some of them do something, some of them don't. You have to pull two of them, but which two?
MAP05: "Voutilainen's". This is a shop where the students of J-Norssi go to buy some candy, cigarettes and beer. The problem is that you can't get out of there! You will need a key which is buried deep beyond the ground. What awaits you there, no one knows. MAP06: "Hangover" (Single/Coop) The only possible end for this adventure: a wakeup in jail with skinheads. You can get out of there, but there are still some surprises waiting for you...
MAP06: "The Gallery" (DeathMatch) This level was made especially for 2 player DeathMatch with monsters (recommended skill level: Nightmare). It provides very fast DM play with some special jippos (activate the SuperSwitch and let the monsters give your opponent a hot time, for example).

  8. DIIE!

DIIE! is the new version of IIE (the difficulty is increased) which crashed a computer with a Sound Blaster, Pro and 16 (I own a Gravis UltraSound and it does not crash). The problem was the music so I have decided to remove it. DIIE! is a big one-player (or cooperative) level for original DOOM.

  9. STJOHNS.WAD

This is a (fairly) topologically accurate map of St John's College,Cambridge. Architecturally speaking its fairly reasonable too (at least I think so). Contains no altered bitmaps, textures, sprites or sounds. Extensively play tested, designed primarily for deathmatch but single player is ok. A co-operative ending is required (2 players in co-operation) for a net game.

Secret passages are (mostly) relevant to St John's College and to the author, a graduate of St Johns . A working knowledge of St John's will help you find your way around.

  16. CREOL1_2.WAD

This Wad is for DOOM ][ only. (If there is enough interest, maybe a DOOM I version will be created.) It is designed to look like the current location of CREOL (Center for Research in Optics and Lasers) at the University of Central Florida. It is designed as things were in March 95 (ie, student bull pen in Dr. Riza's lab, etc.). For those that know the author, goodies can be found in his laboratories and on his office desk. Bad monsters can be found in appropriate places (advisor's office, etc.).

Any constructive criticism or new ideas will be appreciated (I already have some plans for the next version). Anyone who felt cheated that I didn't include their lab, tough :), I only had so much space and time.

  18. Yarmouth High School

This PWAD is based on the floor plan of the Yarmouth High School. New graphics have been created. I have a 486DX2/66 and this level crawls because of its size. I would recommend something faster. It could be called poor design since I didn't know this level would be so large when I began. Otherwise, I think this a great level. I have been told that this level is a good representation of the macintrashes and general layout of the school. I know the graphics for the macs came from another patch file for Doom, but I do not remember where. Type 'SCHOOL' in the Doom directory to play this level.

  19. The Ultimate Trinity

A patch wad to accompany trinity2.zip which allows it to run with Thy Flesh Consumed. Note that if you include this wad on your Doom command line, it will no longer work with plain Doom. And it never worked with Doom II, so don't even think about it.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
