  4. Quake Weapons in Doom ][

All right, I'll make it easy on you...Quake has weapons. These weapons are now emulated in Doom ][. Have fun. You may remember this patch's predecessor, Quakewep.zip; that patch is old, admittedly terrible, BUGGY (I can't BELIEVE I didn't catch the obvious bug in that patch!), and outdated as of today. The real improvement is that instead of just slopping some new graphics and weapon principles on the Doom weapons, I actually did some RESEARCH this time. =) I figured out how much each weapon did in terms of DAMAGE and emulated that instead. Therefore, the graphic representations of the weapons sort of suffer--ESPECIALLY the Thunderbolt (It's somehow even WORSE graphically)--but the weapons are much better representations of Quake's actual firepower.

  6. NEWGUNS.HHE

This patch file will give you some new weapons:

-The Dark Wand: An improved version of the elvenwand, with increased firepower.

    - Fire Crossbow: This weapon, in it's normal state, beams a blue lightning with red smoke. With the tome of power, the fire crossbow turns into the most powerful weapon in the game! :-O

    - Wind Claw: Dragon Claw now is past. With the tome of power, instead of spreading spikes, this weapon spreads tornados!!!

    - Hellstaff: In it's new version, the Hellstaff shoots fireballs with an incredible power!

    - Lava Rod: When the fireballs hit any obstacle, they spread themselves like lava balls!

  8. rossguns.zip

This is a hack I made to speed up the doom 2 guns. It was made with dehacked 2.0 for doom 1.666

There are many fastgun patches out there, but none that I personally feel are quite right. Either one weapon is way too fast, or one is too slow, or whatever. This patch works especially well for deathmatch. Give it a try.

  9. LifeBuilder v1.0

Alters two weapons. The Plasma Gun (now the Life Beam) fires a bullet with damage -1! Enemies can get REALLY strong. The BFG is now the Reviver. It actually brings enemies back to life (mostly the minor ones only, and you need a dead body to aim for. It WON'T work on the players!). Get up close to the enemy, shoot, and if it works he should "die in reverse" and attack you on the spot. It and the Life Beam both have unlimited ammo. I also changed the codes around (look in the MISC. section or email me for them), and I included my trademark -- the monsters infight.

  10. Alien Vendetta DeHackEd patch

This is the DEH patch I made for AV. It was included in the last AV distributuion, but as an EXE, so I decided to upload this for those poor souls addicted to "ports." And now since http://doomsearch.com exists it will be easier for people to notice/locate a separate DEH file.

Also, I've included a tiny WAD that fixes the 0 (zero or zed) font which appears with the level names in automap mode.

  12. Space Deathmatch Wad

This is a very unusual way of playing deathmatch: in zero-G. First, each player has a choise of one and only one weapon, and some ammo for that weapon (I finally got all the weapon selection areas working!) Then, it's just like normal deathmatch, except for the fact that you go flying out of control each time you step over the edge or get hit. I just made this level for the EXE, so feel free to make your own levels for use with it. (Just tell me about them!)

  13. Hard Doom Guns

    Vanilla DEHACKED gameplay mod.

Balance of Doom's weapons and monsters has been tweaked to better suit slaughter gameplay, and generally to be better balanced. Pistol can now find its usefullness even if you have chaingun, the same with shotgun x SSG, plasma gun x BFG, even fist and chainsaw have been enhanced. Zombiemen and arachnotrons became a decent threat and some other monsters were altered as well. See the entire list of changes in the enclosed textfile (hardguns_INFO.txt).

*this is a kewl patch.* it makes most of the badies hop and moan once theyve been killed. its a lot more bloody too. ultra gore. if you have a slow computer, you may want to avoid rooms with lots of twitching bodies. if you cause a bloodbath with the chaingun, some monsters may vanish from sight, i wish i could say this was a wanted effect.

  16. Simple Pistol Starter

This is a mod that automates the process of pistol starting in Doom and several other IWADs.

It makes no other changes to gameplay in the IWADs or other mods that the included "pistol starters" are compatible with.

Usage is simple: Load only one pistol starter, and load it after whatever WADs you want to use.

Autosaves should be enabled, and the game should be played as in normal continuous play.

The process of pistol starting will be performed for you automatically via ACS scripting.

At the start of each level a script will run.

It will remove from all players all weapons, armor, ammo, etc. and give them the default weapons and ammo and reset their health to 100.

If autosaving is enabled the game will then save your progress as it would otherwise.

You will be able to play the entire game with no need for cheats or further configuration.

These pistol starters should only be used with IWADs, megawads and other mods that include multiple levels and are "pistol start friendly", such as Ancient Aliens, Sunlust or Valiant.

For Freedoom use the pistol starters for Doom or Brutal Doom.

Chex Quest 3, Hacx, and Heretic have been given pistol starters because of the similarity of their structure and gameplay to Doom.

Other IWADs such as Hexen and Strife were not, due to their unsuitability for pistol starts.

If any other mod or IWAD is hub-based or otherwise dependent on continuous gameplay, it may be "broken" by these scripts.

If a WAD only includes one map these scripts would be pointless.

If a WAD includes custom weapons it will not work as intended unless the pistol starter is compatible.

Pistol starters for several mods have been included:

Beautiful Doom v6.1.0.2 Brutal Doom v20b Elf Gets Pissed v1.1 PerK's Smoother Weapon Animations Enhanced Strange Aeons v5.4 Valiant

The pistol starter for Brutal Doom v20b includes a patch for the error that prevents Brutal Doom from working with recent versions of GZDoom, which is the reason why this pistol starter is in ".pk3" format instead of ".wad".

It will also "remember" whether the initial "crack knuckles and load rifle" and shotgun-pump animations have played and skip them in future maps as they would be skipped normally.

As for the pistol starter for Elf Gets Pissed: It will remember whether or not the Lightbringer was found, and will give it back to the player on pistol start, along with the amount of ammo that would have been given on pickup. (120 on skills 0 and 4, 80 otherwise)

For Strange Aeons: It will remember the Yithian Lightning Gun, giving it back after pistol start if it was found, along with the ammo given on pickup. (80 on skills 0 and 4, 40 otherwise)

This is a list of the included pistol starters:

(IWAD) Doom and Freedoom: pstlstrt.wad (Mod) Brutal Doom v20b: btlpstrt.pk3 (Mod) Beautiful Doom v6.1.0.2: bdpsstrt.wad (Mod) Elf Gets Pissed v1.1: egpsstrt.wad (IWAD) Heretic: evwdstrt.wad (IWAD) Hacx: hxpsstrt.wad (IWAD) Chex Quest 3: mzchstrt.wad (Mod) PerK's SWAE: pkpsstrt.wad (Mod) Strange Aeons: sassstrt.wad (Mod) Valiant: vlpsstrt.wad

The pistol starter for Brutal Doom is compatible with Freedoom if used with Brutal Doom v20b.

It is not intended for use with mods based on Brutal Doom, such as Project Brutality. (It may work correctly, it but probably won't.)

The pistol starter for PerK's Smoother Weapon Animations Enhanced can be used with either the brown or black gloves editions, and is also fully compatible with Smooth Doom.

The Valiant pistol starter is intended for use with skillsaw's "Valiant.wad" and "sawdust.wad".

For Valiant: Vaccinated Edition use either the Doom pistol starter, or the one intended for whatever mod you want to use with it.

The original ACS script source files have been left inside each pistol starter WAD, and are commented for reference.

The source files could be used to make more pistol starters for other mods and IWADS.

  17. 2 pistols

Vanilla mod, changing the player's basic weapon.

You start with double pistols instead of one, so that you can fire significantly faster, only 50% slower than with the chaingun. It's supposed to improve gameplay balance, since the single pistol normally becomes useless after you find chaingun.

The mod is realized via custom sprites and a vanilla compatible DEHACKED patch. Run it along with the IWAD/PWAD you're playing. Also you can feel free to add contents of this mod to your own Doom wad you're making.

These dual pistol sprites are not just a mirrored pistol graphic, the shading is fixed so that both pistols have a shadow on the same side. It should make the pistols look more natural, and it's the difference from other dual pistol sprites.

If you dislike the fire sound replacement, feel free to remove or replace it.

Side effects of this mod (they are given by the restrictions of vanilla DEHACKED): -You always fire both pistols consequently, so that 2 bullets are used. -The chaingun spins and flashes faster now, but gameplay-wise it behaves like a normal chaingun. -SS Nazi has been altered in a couple states, and as a result, he fires a bit faster and shares most of his gibbing animation with shotgun guy, but it's not very noticeable.

  18. Dissolving Bodies

Has your Mother ever told you Guys to clean up your mess after you. Well with this patch you can do just that ;-) Got the idea from Eric Herrera and it looks pretty cool especially with Edmundo's great MD2 models. If you like it use it... if its not to your taste then just trash it. Just place "-deh disolve2" or "-deh disolve1" in the command line depending on what Doom you use.

ZDoomGL users, make sure the BLOODPOOL is offset to 1.0 in the MD2.ini otherwise it may appear broken in appearance. Keep on Dooming

  19. French Doom translation

This is a recreation of the official French translation of Doom II, in the form of a PWAD file and dehacked patch. I have created these by comparison of the English and French versions of doom2.exe and doom2.wad (the French version is named doom2f.wad).

The translation was done by a company called "Art of Words". I have heard that the translations are rather poor, but I don't know French well enough to comment myself.

  20. The Cybermarine v1.0

So, you think a Cyberdemon has it easy, huh? Well, you couldn't be more wrong. Every marine attacking him has glowing yellow eyes and a BFG that, amazingly, never runs out of ammo!

...Anyway, this DeHackEd patch will turn you just about completely into a Cyberdemon. You walk at a different speed, and still make those marine "oof" noises (no way to replace them in DeHackEd), but you: - Start with 4000% health. (Cyberdemon has 4000 hit points.) - Only shoot rockets. - Look like a Cyberdemon (except the mug shot on your status bar. Draw a new face yourself!). - Have 1000 mass. - Are BIGGER.

Sounds like a dream, doesn't it? Well, here's the catch -- try fitting through the first corridor you come to!

I included my trademark: the monsters infight.

  21. Mealstrom Gun

Mealstrom is a great big whirlpool, German, I think. Anyway, what the patch does is give you infinite ammo so you don't run out, alot of life for those of you who don't use codes (which is dumb with this patch) speed up the shotgun so it's fun and, BEST OF ALL, the thing that earned it its name, it turns the puffs of bullets as they hit the wall into barrels which explode in a giant cloud of fire when you use the shotgun!!! It'll kill a Cyberdemon in a second and a half!!

  22. DOOMED v1.0

Doomed is basically a patch I wrote to just make doom a lot harder. I'm not one of those guys that thinks I need a real challenge and decided to make one of those impossible patches. As a matter of fact I'm probably far from it. I can just barely beat e1m1 on nightmare. I just thought this would be a cool project to work on. This text was written a few days after I finished DOOMED, so I can't remember all the stuff. DOOM I patch only!

  23. Napalm Weapons

This patch is what I came up with when I saw that all of the other flamethrower patches sucked and didn't have kickback or anything that made them realistic. I have tried to make this realistic by adding flame kickback and limited range to the flame- thrower. I have also included the NPC-9000 which stands for Napalm Projection Cannon 9000 which hurls huge chunks of napalm at the enemy and does massive damage. The flame from this stays afterwards for ages. The flames in this are incredibly hot and will kill you if you go near them so stay away! The bullets in this have napalm in them and the burst into flame when they hit a non-organic substance. Well anyway, enough of that... have fun!

  24. Ultimate Chaingun Combat (version 2)

They're all different, unique kinds of chainguns. Here's a brief summary:
    Pistol: a regular, semi-slow Chaingun.
Shotgun: the Shock Rifle. You just keep loading ammo into this thing, and each time you pull the trigger, it fires all the ammo you have.
Super Shotgun: the Super Shock Rifle. Has a wider spread than the Shock Rifle.
    Chaingun: THE Chaingun. Devistating.
Rocket Launcher: Hollowpoint Bullet Chaingun. Fires slowwer, and the ammo is scarce, but this weapon does very serious damage.
Plasma Gun: Just an adapter for the chaingun that makes the bullets into tracer rounds (so you can see where you're shooting). It's also much more precise.
BFG: The Spreadfire Cannon. Pack 50 bullets into this thing and pull the trigger. Covers the entire screen with gunfire. Kills almost everything you can see... instantly.

  25. Server Doom

This allows any specific supported engine to continuously run all maps from E1 to E4. This file ignores (End Episode), and well reroute to the next episode when the current is finished. Perfect for multiplayer proposes!

Thanks to Kyle "Skunkrocker" Guthrie for the episode 4 intermission screen, that SVDoom utilizes and retrieved permission for.

    Version 1.00: 25 April. 2008 Original Release

Version 1.01: 20 November. 2008 Fixed a possible HOM issue that sometimes occur in SkullTag.

Version 2.00: 30 November. 2012 * Expunged CISVD.txt; superfluous ASCII file... * Added a new lump 'ZMAPINFO' for engines that support it * Applied level number capability; useful for ACS scripts. * Enforced 'No Jumping' and 'No Crouching'; changable * Enforce 'Smooth Lighting' variable to true. * Enforce 'Normal Infighting' * Ports that use MAPINFO should render intermission screens almost adjacent to those that use ZMAPINFO.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.
    • By costadevale · Posted
It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
