  6. BETTERM4.WAD

I am addicted to DOOM, plain and simple. But when it comes to DeathMatch, that is an even more compulsive obsession of mine. This was was my attempt to bring in the great qualities of my favorite DeathMatch level, E1M4 and combine those with the excellent characteristics of E1M5 -- those set my addiction into DeathMatch deeply embedded in my soul. I hope you true hardcore DeathMatchers enjoy this DM Wad.

D9 is the utimate in Deathmatch level design! Made especialy for the hard core player. Consider it your owne personal dungeon of death! There are two weapons of each type in all levels, no slime pits for those pussy suicide attempts and no monsters. All exits are co-op, so no scaredy cat escapes! This 3 level mini episode is the start of an entire 9 level DM episode! I am curently working on these 6 other levels and will release them upon compleation so enjoy these for now! Also D9 has its reject data rebuilt at a setting of 32 witch should vastly improve the performance on lower end computers.

  19. Death Match Spiral (DSPIRAL.WAD)

A different kind of deathmatch level, based upon an idea conjured up by myself and Justin Powell (author of Death Match Prison). You only get to select on weapon per life, as does your opponent. The playing field is dairly simple: The better bonuses are harder to get, and there are some nice hiding spots, and a place to suicide if your situation seems hopeless. There are also a few pesky monsters to liven it up, and some more than pesky monsters guarding the bonuses (hint: take a chainsaw one of your times out) Oh, BTW: in case you didn't figure it out yet, this level is for Death Match only .

  22. deathday.wad

My first serious attempt at a wad, also my first uploaded wad. This level is mainly made for deathmatch, however, single play is possible. I'm not sure about co-op, as I never bother to play it. The main premise behind the level is windows and more windows to shoot/see through. I haven't added the plasma gun, BFG or rocket launcher as I prefer the shotgun and chaingun in deathmatches. Also, there are no difficulty levels implemented. Either kill everything or be killed...oh, don't forget to wash your subconscience before and after playing doom.

  23. Deathmatch 1

Lots of level ideas I had incorporated into a Deathmatch level. It differs from most Deathmatch levels that I've seen in that it has multiple weapon locations (somewhat preventing a player from hanging out near one), a few traps that allow for alternate killing methods, and a means to permanently cut off the route to the BFG if it becomes too annoying (be careful of what switch you hit). It also has a few really good hiding places (if you can find them) and lots and lots of ammo. IT IS NOT PLAYABLE AS A SINGLE PLAYER LEVEL! It has a coop exit and no monsters, but there is a player one start point so you can look at it. This is my second level.

  24. DeathMatch Afternoon v1.0

This level was built for my afternoon DeathMatches, hence the title. It consists of a central raised area around which there are several walkways and weapons. There are also several "hiding-holes", perfect for an ambush.

All the weapons are present, as are a Soul Sphere, Combat Armor, Beserk Pack and a Backpack. These items can only be reached by lowering one of the outer lifts, then running to the corresponding plat in the center.

There is no exit in this map, so you'll have to play it with the '-timer' parameter. I usually like DM levels where there is an exit, but in testing I found it led to too many people accidentally pressing the exit switch as they ran to the center.

In addition to the stuff mentioned above, each of the four corners of the level are color-coded; red, blue, green and gray. This helps you tell which direction is which, as well as where the weapons are.

  25. DeathMatch Arena

This is a basic large arena, with a ring surrounding it. There's a couple tricks to be found, so it remains interesting. There is no rocket launcher or acid, so it will work well without -altdeath. E-mail me to tell me if it's great or if it sucks. Thanks. Happy fragging!

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.
