  4. USQ IRC goes Deathmatch Hogwild

This WAD is a representation of the Uni of Southern Queensland L and T block buildings. Excellent deathmatch WAD. Weapons are fairly low level (Shottie, pistol, chaisaw. This ensures maximum fairness and some cool shoot outs and fisticuffs. Loads 'o sniper positions, dark alleys, cool places to hide out. On 4 player this WAD should kick ARSE! (I hope...testing it on the weekend). Tested on 3 player. Groovalicious.

  6. Haunted Space Ship

You have just found a derelict space ship orbiting a planet. The crew is missing or has been transformed; there are just zombies roaming all parts of the ship--the bridge, the holosuite, the transporter room, the engine rooms, and the empty shuttle bay. There are also various floating creatures haunting the ship and outside in space. A small shuttlecraft, also abandoned, is near the ship. On the planet, you find only unearthly creatures stalking through abandoned ruins. Thus you get to battle in the vast reaches of outer space and the sometimes cramped areas the ship. There are plenty of windows to shoot in and out of (you can shoot through any of the windows but you can't shoot through the transparent doors unless they are open. An adequate supply of ammunition is scattered about the ship and all of the weapons are available, though you are going to have to *want* the rocket launcher or the BFG9000.

  9. Strawberry Fool

This is a pure DeathMatch skill WAD. It starts off with Shotguns only. There are no heavy weapons (to start with), just a simple area to blow your friends away! However, as the game develops the playing area grows, and a few guests appear to join in your fun. If you don't find the Strawberry, then you haven't completed the level. BEST PLAYED WITH MONSTERS. There is no exit. (We play to a time limit. 15 mins gets us to the end-game.) This WAD plays well with 2,3 or 4 players. With more players use a high difficulty level.

  13. TreeDM1.WAD

A deathmatch designed with fun and balance in mind. The feeling of this level is fairly open, just a few largish rooms and some interconnecting passageways. It's not intended to be a frag-fest, but more of a fair competition. (Average life span is greater than 5 seconds... :)

Everyone has a weapon nearby when they start, generally within 10 or 20 feet. All players start with 200% health, to make the battles a little longer lasting. The deathmatch spots are designed to eliminate unfair "start-up frags".

Every weapon is available, although it is more and more difficult to get to the more powerful weapons. There are some weapons sitting in cages, with a switch next to 'em; hit the switch to give access to that weapon elsewhere in the level. A quick rundown: Rocket launcher: switch and weapon itself are in the arch-room. Plasma: has two triggers, the switch and walking on one of the ledges. BFG: The easiest weapon to get, but you pay if you do. Or, go the hard way (no secrets involved, but still a long ways to get there), find the BFG-in-a-cage, and get it that way. You'll be off free as a bird. Super Shotgun: (Doom ][) Check the green room.

It's a very good idea to play this level with the alt-death rules. The exit switch is clearly marked, non-coop, and can't be hit accidentally.

  14. SATANIC DOOM v1.1

One of the best patch of levels ever written for DOOM. Detailed and realistic construction on each of the levels. Great gameplay and realistic effects (light sourcing, smart placing of barrels, etc...) And wait 'till you see Multiplayer mode... Believe me, try these levels, you won't regret it... This is version 1.1, slightly upgraded to fix some bugs and add some things... I also made the levels slighly harder...

  16. Spooky Deathmatch

This is the deathmatch level of the Spooky series. It will probably be the secret level to my Spooky episode. I can't really "set a mood" - this level is designed for pure deathmatch (2.0 recommended). It's a medium size, but due to clever circular design coupled with strategic windows, in a 3 or 4 player game you can almost always see an opponent.

  22. SHOCK.WAD

Well, this is my first attempt at making a scratch level for Doom. Let me begin by saying all flames to /dev/null.

My goal was simply to familiarize myself with the basic features that DEU 5.0 afforded. And to this end, I have designed a simple 23 sector map suitable for two-player deathmatches.

This level is not very good for solo or co-op play. No trick or traps, no moving objects, no transporters. But I did drop a few monsters in just to make it interesting.

  23. DOOM TOURNAMENT WAD PACK --> TOURWADS.ZIP

These WAD files were used for the first DOOM tournament in the ARK-LA-TEX erea held on 27th of Aug 1994 in Bossier city La. This pack consists of six WAD files, the files named PHOBOS 1-5 were used for game play and TIE.WAD was used for any ties. All of the PHOBOS files are basicly the same with monsters and wepons moved around, TIE.WAD is a small room with only shotguns. We used a double elimination format so that every one got to play at least twice. There were two PCs hooked together via null modem useing DOOMMASTER to help speed up the loading of the WADs. The contributrs were (in no certian order) SMUG BBS, FASTTRACK BBS. X-TRONIC BBS, WAL-MART, BABBAGES SOFTWARE, AND ME AND TED WHITE (out of our own pocket).

    *** DEATHMATCH ***

This my first Pwad designed for Deathmatch that is small enough to provide maximum fun for two players. The good thing about this one:

    It is not only fun to play, it is also p e r f e c t l y d e s i g n e d and so nice to look at, that you might forget to go on playing Deathmatch!

    Instructions:

E1M1: - no Acidfloor - Difficulty settings: - 1 and 2: Plasma in secret (see below), Rocket hard to get. - 3 and 4: BFG in secret (see below), Plasma hard to get.

E1M2: - Acidfloor - Difficulty settings: - 1 and 2: Plasma in secret (see below), Rocket hard to get. - 3 and 4: BFG in secret (see below), Plasma hard to get.

The secret: is not really a secret, it is a deathmatch- start that takes you to the center of the map, some sort of a cage, that you cannot escape. In it you will find either the Plasma Rifle or the BFG900, so that you can hit your enemies hard but you can not escape their attacs.

Still to come: a Single-/Multiplayer-Pwad, that includes this Pwad as one room. It will be called "Die, My Only Friend" (diefrnd.wad).

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
