  1. IMPZONE 2

`Acorn Hardas' rides again - Following on from my experiences with `The Imp Zone' and the comments I received, here's the sequel. It seems the favourite part of Imp Zone was the Turkey Shoot off the pseudo bridge. That was developed further in IZ2. Just look out when you get to looking down on the Green Nuke Pit where you started from, it gets VERY hot in Ultra Violent Mode, don't be in too much of a rush to be confrontational, you must use your wits and take them by the `back door' Paul wanted some difficult secrets, I accomodated him with one `corker', if you can't get 3 x 100% watch the DEMO, it shows you most of the secrets.

Most of all, I just hope it gives a few people as much pleasure playing it as it gave me to construct. JUST HAVE FUN but be careful out there!

  2. THE IMP ZONE

You're `Acorn Hardas' and you're NO Green Marine. Problem is, the action ain't been too hot of late and you're not one for looking at yourself in a Hall Of Mirrors ;-) You've been in nothing but trouble with a capital `S' mainly for being Late On Parade, but what do they expect when there's nothing to do but get `spaced out'?

Bringing up the rear guard on yet another routine mission, you keep comming across the toasted remains of your buddy's. Looks like this is the Big One, or is it a scene from that old Twentieth Century, 2D Movie you recall, "Planet of the Apes".

It's time to prove that you ARE a waster, just like your Captain said, but not quite as he meant...

  3. GoodLuck.WAD

This level is another in the "lucky" series. To play this level w/ any chance of completing it, you must use Super DooM Guns! For any of you with a heart problem or low Dooming ability erase this wad now, it's not worth your time! All others continue reading.

This level is, as are all in the series, a test for those who think they are adept at Dooming. This level is not impossible, just looks that way at first. Quite a few monsters inhabit the level with increased #s in UV setting. PLEASE DON'T USE THE CHEAT CODES! They won't show you if you are as good as you think you are. Well, GOODLUCK!

Bye the way, if you like the challenge of this level, call Doomer's Corner and D/L others of the "lucky" series (soon to be a Lucky Pack).

  4. The Hall

You've teleported into the rear of yet another demonic stonghold. Intelligence reports there is a large hall within where many comrads have vanished. The final phrase of your orders bothered you. It said simply "Lots-a-luck!" Yes... this is a large WAD but it saves fine. Just don't add any more "things" to it. (or sectors) Well... you can if you want but it won't save then. I really hope you enjoy it! (Comments welcome)

  7. LA GALERIA & LA GALERIA DELUXE

This Level represents the ultimative two player Deathmatch arena. There are some (we call it "galeria") windows to shoot out and some fine dark rooms and of course a chainsaw-arena (with nasty doors). This level's seize is good for reaching your opponent fast and intercept it. Nothing for wimps who try to escape or hide (you guys will be hunted easily). We haven't tried it, but we think that this level is too small for a good 4 player Match. [...] The deluxe-version is much harder.

  8. Gothic

This is my best level so far. It turned out pretty nicely, I think. I wanted it to resemble a large gothic cathedral, and it sort of does (nice, huh?). I intend to make an entire episode based on this theme, this being the first level of the episode. I just wanted to get this one out, and let people play it, so I could get some feedback. I really would like to know what you people think of this level! Please?

NOTE: If you are using anything less than DOOM version 1.666, then you will experience some very, VERY nasty HOM. Please be advised.

  9. Grahamk.wad

The first level can be played in single player mode, but is also a good Deathmatch level with lots of interconnecting rooms so the players always meet. The second level is primarily for single player with lots of architectural puzzles rather than enemies to fight. Neither are terribly difficult by today's standards, BTW.

  15. scraping away the flesh

this is the first map i've ever finished [i've started quite a few, but could never be arsed to finish any]. i wanted to do a level that started small and expanded outwards as you progressed. for a special helping hint, don't activate every switch as you come across them. try to open the level symmetrically, you won't get bombarded with millions of monsties at once. unless you like it that way...

  16. The Hunger

There's no real theme to this WAD file. It's just a good ole fashioned shoot-em up. I hope you've practiced killing the Barons of Hell with the chain gun because you'll have to do that in one spot. Lots of guys to shoot and lots of places to see. Revised to support deathmatches.

  20. Hell in the University (version 1.01)

This idea came out in the Winter 1994 but only the next Spring our work began. This work was made during our freetime between a Physics Book and TV programs, or during an awful raining day and a no sleeping night. This is because we took many months to complete it.

  21. HARRIS11.WAD

My second attempt at a Doom level, and the first one which, hopefully, is good enough for Doomers everywhere to take for a spin :)

This is a small (49K) replacement PWAD for the first episode of the original Doom. Nothing too complex, no mind-warping puzzles to solve.....Just kill anything moving, score all three skullkeys, and try to get to the exit in one piece.

By the way, I hope you like my non-linear architectural style for this level...I thought it looked pretty good. Download and enjoy!! And please send feedback to me at the address above. Thanx!

  23. THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE ARCHITECTURAL (DOOM I)

A feast for the eyes of those who thirst for blood. Indulge yourself with nine classically designed levels of fine architecture with fast and furious action, a puzzle or two thrown in just for fun, and a silly story line. These huge levels are all packed full of monsters, of course, to keep you busy throughout the wee hours of the night and well into the morning. Don't let the blood and viscera of hundreds of slaughtered beasts spoil the beauty of your surroundings.

Having been recommended to me earlier, a while back i gave this WAD a serious try, whilst by now being quite sure it's not on paper something i'd be likely to enjoy.  And so it wasn't, i simply quit in E1M4, but could've just as easily done so already on M1, as my impression didn't change at all as the game went on.   For me, the layouts are far too protracted and downright boring as a result, and the detailing is heavy-handedly generous, and i would even say, not pleasing to my eye.  Long levels often are not a problem when the layout is well-designed, and when one by the end of it has gotten a good grasp of it, but here i never got that feeling, so for me the layout designs are a problem.  No doubt this is partly due to them being expansions of the original maps, but it shows their efficacy and genius - and it shows that the whole idea of expanding such maps may be ill-adviced unless one can truly match that genius, and here that has not been the case. i also did not enjoy the alteration of the original areas to 'modernized' or 'improved' versions.  One main feature of this WAD are the gameplay additions, such as mines, forcefields, radiation areas, new monsters and numerous others, and these i saw as nothing more than gimmicks that didn't add any substance, simply detracting from the elegant simplicity of the game.   As far as gameplay itself goes, on first level there was a severe shortage of health considering the amount of hitscanners, and also some worry about having enough ammo.  On further levels they weren't frivolously given either but that's to be expected (quite a bit of bullet-spongy beasts are present, so it's important to manage it all correctly).  The new monsters didn't add anything to my liking, but i do see what was attempted with them - still, for me they are just a novelty (i sort of like the black crouching figure shooting fireballs, maybe it could be used somewhere and i'd like it...)  Doom is an extremely balanced game, and it's not easy to add to its bestiary without tipping the scales, i'm aware of only a handful of times that it's been successful to my taste.   One interesting thing was the detailed intermission-stats, that even showed as graphs the player's success in past levels and collected/used ammo, health, etc.    i have in the past used the term gimmick-WAD and this is a good example of exactly what i mean with it.  So for me, this had nothing to do with Doom, but i give two stars regardless, mainly for effort and trying something different.  Even so, this is just my personal experience and preference, and i'm glad a lot of people are of a different opinion.  (Played on LZDoom, HMP and continuous.)
