Watch where you step...it may be your last. You find yourself in a training facility where all good soldiers go...to die? To escape, you will need your wits and strength (plus good shooting) to live to tell about it. There are teleporters, secret passages and plenty to kill. Just watch your ammo. The secret to escape lies in the bones. Find it and you just might survive to another day. Don't...and you'll just be S.O.L.

  3. MANIC WAD FILE

This picture was created using 3d Studio V3. It used 27 procedural textures and took 28 weeks to render on a Pentium 100 PC with 640k. It has over 200000000 faces and 30000000000000 vertices. It was scaled down from 100000 by 2000000 pixels to 50 by 40 in 45 days by Paint Shop Pro V2 ....... Ooops sorry wrong file .... got a little bit carried away there. Anyway back to the right file ....

Dear Mrs Smith, The estimate for the work carried out on the downstairs bathroom is 24 million pounds and 2p + VAT and p&p. Sorry we couldn't do it cheaper but second hand solid gold baths from the Cleopatra era are hard to find.

Ooops - sorry again (gettin to be a bit of a habit this!?)

Where was I, oh yes. This Doom wad was created by me, only me and me alone and no one else (not even my dog Sparky helped).

By the way me is Andrew Harbour (not that I am a harbour thats my surname - talk about unfortunate named after a place with lots of big boats.)

The level itself is pretty large, to be quite honest I think it's huge! There's absolutely loads of monsters, if you like killing lots and also enjoy a bit of a puzzle element to levels then you should love this level.

Multi Player (coperative) playing is supported on this level but due to the large size it was decided deathmatch would be exceptionally boring and is therefore not implemented.

  4. manse11.wad

This was my first wad, designed six months ago. It is not a huge level; I intended it to be map 1 of a full episode, but I haven't had the free time to finish (what with DOOM2, Descent, RotT, Dark Forces, Heretic, and Magic Carpet :)). It is, IMHO, a very detailed and nice looking WAD, though. It's also pretty hard in UV mode (let alone in Nightmare).

  5. Mansion

The government has of late taken a certain interest in a wealthy socialite whom they believe is dabbling in the black arts. You have been chosen to investigate his dealings. The door closes behind you...

This is a big level. It is my first level and also the level that I learned how to use DEU. My friends enjoyed playing it and told me to make it available for others. I tried to, but as luck would have it I was an AOHeller and they would not accept my level. That was a year ago. Now it is debugged, touched up and ready for human con- sumption.

  6. MAP3.WAD

This level is rather small, but nevertheless fun. The first room is inspired by Doom II map 01. To get the red key, you must do some running. BTW: I'm not very creative in naming my levels... :-)

  7. Marine Base E1M1

A Marine Base on a distant outpost, taken over by the Hordes of Hell.

Although saved as E1M1, it is probably a better replacement for E1M4 or E2M2. It includes an exit to the secret level, but it's tough to find. The regular exit takes a bit of fancy finger- work to get to as well!

Only contains Weapons 1-5, but adds a Plasma gun (and no extra cells) in Deathmatch mode.

I've tried to keep all textures etc. pretty consistent, except for a few special areas, and I think I've gotten rid of all HOM effects. 8-) The only construction problem that I can find is in the deep blue Demon room (you'll know it when you get there), that sometimes the screen gets stuck in 'Cyberspace' 8-( - any hints on how to fix this gratefully received. Other than that, all walls have been aligned unless they (a) hide secret doors, or (b) are meant to be that way (cf the spiral staircase)

This is probably a little easy as is, but I'm going to add more monsters for UV, and take away a few imps and sergeants for ITYTD

As this is my first level, I'd be really pleased to get some feedback, especially from Watcher (there's only one small maze 8-)) and Cameron Newham - you guys write the best damned reviews I've EVER read! - even if I don't always agree with you.

So, Play and Have Fun, but most of all, Do it to them, before they do it to you...

  15. Massacre on Deimos

As you kill the last of the Barons on Phobos, you hear a crackle over your communicator. It's information (and of course, orders) from Earth. The General informs you that the invasion was not limited to the Phobos facility, but that Deimos was also invaded. Just before Earth lost all contact with Deimos, the following portion of a message was received:

"...it's a gradual infestation. It starts in the small storage facility where the teleporter from Phobos is located. It's not too heavy there, mostly mutants. It just gets worse though. The refinery is one of the worst areas. The stairway down to our rec room now looks like a stair down to ..."

You here an explosion, then the General is back on. "That's all we got, marine. And now we can't find Deimos anywhere! It looks like the whole place just disappeared. We need you to jump on that teleporter, find out what happened, and clean it up. Earth out."

"Great," you say to yourself. You were really hoping that this teleporter was your ticket home. So now you have another station to save, more demons to kill and a general with bad phone manners. You take a deep breath, jump on the teleporter and hope that nothing's waiting on the other side -- and that there's still another side to land on...

  17. MAULHIGH.WAD

Take on hell spawn in a highschool setting you could only find in DOOM. The level is fully equiped with lockers (with strange contents), teachers (Ha! take THIS Mrs. Bolton! BOOM!), students (poor saps, put them out of their misery), a floating principal and a detention must worse than any that's ever been seen before! Then, in the final areas you must pass the tests to get out alive. By the way, remember to always flush!! and don't eat the food.

  18. Maxcastl: The Most Massive Wad

Inspired by NJ_CASTL.WAD, much of the integrity of the original level has been maintained, except that it is HUGE. I opened up many of the void spaces on the map to make passages and secret rooms. ... There are many ways to approach certain areas, and the action inside the castle is very much determined by the way a player behaves while on the outside. Monsters my appear in one area the first time you play and may not show at all in the same area the second or third time through. (see the original for more comments)

  20. Mayan Temple

This is an upgraded version of Mayan666.

Mayan667 is based on the architecture of the ancient Mayan civilization. There is a large open area containing four buildings, three of which are pyramids. In the center is a sunken court where a kind of soccer to the death was once played. There are also four small underground areas off the large open area. See hint at the end of this file if you can't find the rocket launcher.

This is my attempt to create a level that works well for either deathmatch or single play. It has been play tested in all modes and tweaked for maximum fun.

  21. MAYHEM.WAD

Needless to say, this is my first level. I think I did a pretty good job but if I were able to force myself to look at the DEU screen again and make another level it would be way better. The best thing about my level is that the secrets aren't all composed of hidden doors who's textures have been cleverly alligned. To get acess to my secret areas you'll have to use your brain, which most DOOMers enjoy. And at no point will you need to find a hidden door to complete the level. Any moron can go around a whole level pushed up against a wall pressing the spacebar rapidly. My level is also very straight forward. You won't have much choice to where you go, the level will direct you through itself. I have put in an area map early in the game because they are cool. Some areas though are hidden so it doesn't give the whole level away. This level is ment to be played on ultraviolent, save often or don't save at all, whichever you prefer. Try to get 100% items, secrets and kills, I've made two of those kills perticularly tricky (Use you brains not your guns).

Short TC with a lovely western setting. I wish it was longer, but it's great nonetheless.

I'm not the biggest fan of the Serenity series, but Infinity might be its best entry. The maps are mostly fun to navigate and they feature some decent design. I'm just not sure I like the way the fights are designed. It's not uncommon for rooms to be packed with enemies (mostly sergeants). I found myself blasting my shotgun through a doorway a bit too often for my tastes. Still, it features some nice MIDIs, so the experience is mostly fun.

Fava Beans is a great episode that's very reminiscent of E1's style. The maps, especially back half, are smartly laid out and feature lots of windows, which give the WAD a great look. It's on the easier side overall, as it doesn't use Cacos and Barons all that much, but it was still a blast to play through.

This is definitely one of my favorite 1994 release. The Evil Unleashed continues in the steps of TiC's previous WAD, Slaughter Until Death, and refines the experience even further. The maps are full of tight spaces with packs of enemies ready to be mowed down. The architecture is simple but effective, complemented by a handful of nasty crushers. Good stuff.
