  1. MEV1i.WAD

These are the DEATHMATCH wads for the first two levels in the MEV series, for both DOOM I and II. (The D2 version is recommended, as it has the Super Shotgun! Oh...and is a bit more refined.)

These levels are designed for BEST play with DEATHMATCH v2.0 (it's great, but never required...)

To leave each level (tally up scores) a cooperative effort is required by two of the players: a button must be hit which lowers a lift elsewhere, leading to the exit switch.

    ---------------------------------------------------

LEVEL ONE The level appears as a rough hexagonal shape with a star-shaped lift in its center. Six irregularly- shaped rooms connect to the sides of the lift at different heights, and the lift moves continually up and down between them. Stairways and teleporters are also used to connect the rooms to each other, and allow for some cool sneak-attacks! All weapons but the BFG are implemented - this level was designed to be played without it. I especially enjoy running people down in the room holding the rocket launcher.

  2. DON'T PANIC!

    Hi!

My name is Håkan "Zap" Andersson, from the icy Sweden. DONT PANIC is my first attempt at making a DOOM level. This is NOT a deathmatch or even a multiplayer level! It is a puzzle-solving thinking level with a minimum of monster bashing (minimum relative to the bloodbathy doom standard, that is.... :-)

The reason it is called DONT PANIC is because at first glance it LOOKS more difficult than it is..... open the first door and 25 monsters come crawli'n at ya.... step on the first teleporter and wham, you're in the arms of a cyberdeamon..... ICK! (There is another reason it is called DONT PANIC too, but you'll find that out as you play....)

But this is trickery - there are ways to solve these with less bloodloss than one first suspects.

It can also be played at different difficulties. "Ultra Violence" is more monsters than "Please don't hurt me" e.t.c.

  3. origwad.zip

This is an experimental PWAD file for use with DOOM. It is rather simple since I cannot generate the nodes structure for anything much more complex than this. This level has been generated entirely by hand. No editors were used to produce it.

  4. No Sleep for the Dead

This is No Sleep for the Dead, a Doom 1 episode replacement and the spiritual successor to 1997's Dawn of the Dead. This episode features 9 brand new original and consistently themed levels in classic good ol' Doom style. In addition, you receive one bonus level which runs on E2M1.

For completion's sake, I've also included a dehacked patch which only changes the level names. You can apply it manually to your vanilla doom.exe, but most source ports should pick it up automatically because it's embedded into the wad file as well.

  6. In the Mess of it

mole doom episode 1: this is a 9 level mapset for doom 1. it replaces episode 1. there isn't really any plot aside from the standard doom plot. it's got 8 maps and one secret level. if you want a plot i'll make one up: you play john ninmole. a scientist at the research center on phobos. you were called in one morning on your goddamn day off. something has gone wrong with the teleporter again and it's your job to fix it. this happened just recently, but when it did the whole other moon disappeared. when you arrived to your station everyone was dead. you quickly grabbed a pistol off a dead security guard and prepared yourself for the most stressful workday of your life. and the worst part is you're not even supposed to be here today!------------------ 3 of these levels have partimes: e1m3: 1:31 e1m5: 3:18 e1m9: 0:27 these par times were set by my friend stoogy. unfortunately, he didn't get a chance to play the rest of the levels before release.

  11. NJ Shores of Hell

Olde replacement for The Shores of Hell - my first "Mega-ish" WAD. Released purely because of interest in old, cheesy 1994 WADS.

This is probably not the first version of this file, but an early revision. I no longer have the original which I think would be a month or so older. The file date may or may not be accurate. Both the original and this revised file were originally uploaded to the Compuserve action games forum in 1994.

  12. Nuke Mine (Come Get Some)

It appears that there has been an incident on Nexus 14. Nexus 14 is a mining planet, which basically means its a rock floating in some shitty solar system. Nexus 14 is known across the universe for its rich content of Nuke, a green substance that makes a great meat spread, paint thinner or extra firm hair gel. Anyways, the last report from the Nexus 14 communications centre warned of an attack from creatures released through a time-continuem breach (sorry if that's spelled wrong). You have been ordered to go in as survelance only. You are to assess the situation and be out in two hours to report to your commanding officer so that preparations can be made for a counter assault. The only problem is, you think your tough enough to take on the army of creatures yourself. You stupid twit! What makes you think that one person could possibly drive off an entire army of blood sucking demons from Dimension-X? Fine then, go ahead...

On the surface, Outpost 21 appears to be a peaceful complex that provides its small team of dedicated scientists with living quarters, research labs, and recreational facilities. However, not even the aliens who recently inhabited Outpost 21 were aware of the dark and dirty secrets that lie beneath .

Take on hell spawn in a highschool setting you could only find in DOOM. The level is fully equiped with lockers (with strange contents), teachers (Ha! take THIS Mrs. Bolton! BOOM!), students (poor saps, put them out of their misery), a floating principal and a detention must worse than any that's ever been seen before! Then, in the final areas you must pass the tests to get out alive. By the way, remember to always flush!! and don't eat the food.

  23. NJ Original WADs

Olde levels made many years ago. My first 2 WADs. Released purely because of interest in old, cheesy 1994 WADS.

The file date may or may not be accurate. This file was originally uploaded to the Compuserve action games forum in 1994.

There may have been an earlier version with the files uploaded individually, but this combined upload is pretty old. I think MY_1ST used to run on E2M1 but was shifted to E2M2 to accomodate the easier DOWN in the E2M1 slot.

Neat little map. The custom textures are impressive for their time. The map doesn't flow too well and the encounters aren't anything special, but it's a cool piece of Doom history.   The whole concept of modeling a school is obviously taboo nowadays, but it's still worth a try.

A huge improvement over the first part. The maps are fun, filled with interesting encounters and a diverse enemy variety. The architecture is simple but efficient. I particularly like how a couple of the maps make you circle around back to the starting area. The music is fun and cheesy, although a couple tracks failed to loop on my end. Overall, the difficulty is balanced, except for map 2, which stands out thanks to a very nasty trap.

I'm sad to say that I didn't have a good time with this. The maps are uninspired and confusing, while the enemy placement feels random. There's very little sense of progression through the maps. I can't knock it down too much due to its age, but by my modern standards, I wouldn't recommend it.

That was awesome! Feels like a cut level. My only complaint would be the difficulty being a bit too far on the easy side with the open areas, especially in the cyber demon's RGB gamer basement (I played on U.V). Everything else about the map felt like a lot of love was put into it, the way the UAC building and its cargo area was laid out felt like a real place that still works from a gameplay perspective (for the most part i.e, very open sectors). The cargo crate fight in particular really stood out to me as a "whoa!" moment. The basement area next to the travelators was really cool, it was like stumbling upon another threat after going through most of my resources for the cyber demon and feeling worried but excited at the same time. Having to focus up to dash through and grab ammo before I could clear them out was really memorable. I admit I did noclip to the exit after the rock collapse, because I wasn't sure what I missed. All-in-all, awesome map, glad I played it :)

This was a solid set of maps. Maps feel relatively intuitive and don't meander too much, some of the fights are actually pretty challenging, and ammo, health, and armor feel available without being overly plentiful. Not much to complain about here, and especially solid considering how early it released.
