  1. Alpha Accident: Terra Nova

I always wanted to make something classic but with a new content. This wad has not only new maps, textures and music but also new things. Also there are new monsters (boss included), and a new (barely) map hazard - voltage... Maps in this episode are quite large and more of an andventure sort than anything else, but there's enough monsters to shoot at.

I hope this will not end being a cliffhanger, because there are lot of things saved for later episodes which I'd like to implement.

  2. Abyssus

Another episode 2 map replacement and so far the most challenging so far. Abyssus means "bottomless pit" in Latin. Try and find all 9 secrets if you can, as some of them will greatly help you get through some of the tougher sections of the level.

  4. Tower of the CyberDemons v1.0

After playing one of my old favorites, CYBRDETH.WAD, I released that there's really a lack of GOOD Cyberdemon battles in Doom maps. Oh sure, there's always the newbie maps with 50 Cybers in one room and 1000 BFGs lying all over, but that's no fun. So I made this map to fill that gap, and also to provide a challenge to veteran Doomers like myself.

The difficulty levels break down like so..

Easy - 4 Cybers, some Lost Souls Medium - 8 Cybers, some Lost Souls and a few Imps Hard - 12 Cybers, some Lost Souls and a lot of Imps

There are Green Armors on Medium and Blue Armors on Hard as well. There is no armor on Easy, but there there are 5 Soul Spheres on all difficulty levels.

Any Doomer worth his/her Plasma Rifle should be able to take out 4 Cybers, no problem. 8 Cybers are a bit tougher, but if you've beaten Ultimate Doom's Episode 4, this should also be possible. 12 Cybers are the real test of your skill, as I only just scraped by myself!

The golden rule is to CONSERVE YOUR AMMO! Do not fire randomly around hoping to hit anything.. there's only just enough to kill everything! Also, don't pick up the numerous backpacks outside unless you really need ALL FOUR ammo types they give! Expend your cells and rockets first, then your bullets and shells, as the first two are harder to come by.

The platforms which the plasma rifles are on (which you teleport to), are actually lifts, so you can lower them and get additional cells from the guns. This also means getting the plasma is a risk in DM due to the fact that they're over a very deep lava pit!

Finally, this map requires BOOM or a compatible source port due to the high sectors, numerous 2-sided linedefs, additional DM and Coop start spots, and the "bright" lava effect.

  5. Atomic Tomb

A level for Ultimate Doom + a port that will up the vis-plane limit and is compatible with boom. Main focus was on single player + co-op, but there is some very good DM support.

Story: Shortly after Deimos vanished, the hellspawn appeared on Mars and Earth. Blah Blah Blah, you are a private UAC marine stationed on Mars, and your buddies are gone. Grab your shotgun and take some of the uglies out!

Oh and you never can have enough computer screens eh?

Basically a large base type level. This level is HUGE (But not insanely hard) You find yourself in a secondary military base, some distance from the other, ill fated base.

It is located deep in the gray, foggy mountain range. You have to escape and ascend a nearby mountain.

  15. Stranded on Erebus

A map set replacing all of the DOOM Episode 2 levels, with the exception of E2M2. This WAD is intended as a tribute of sort to "The Shores of Hell", so expect similar textures schemes, gameplay and level design as seen in the original Episode 2 (i.e., don't bother complainin about "1994-style level design").

While ZDOOM is required to play this file I only used a skybox and a few scripts to keep the gameplay as close to that of a vanilla-DOOM level. For any reviewing purposes I'd suggest playing E2M7 or E2M6 and skip E2M1 which is a very simple and underdetailed level. Finally, please note this will be my last contribution to the DOOM community (and I don't expect I'll be missed much...).

  16. Awakening

Utilizing Jump or Crouch will break this level.

Single level for The Ultimate DOOM, E4M1. While this WAD requires ZDoom to run, all effects are created using BOOM-compatible actions.

I have included new monsters on the Ultraviolence setting. I downloaded the new monsters from realm667.com, and have tweaked most to various degrees. My thanks to their creators.

For most of this WAD I stuck to the standard textures, but for one section I decided to throw in a few new ones I created. They are all edits of existing DOOM textures.

I have quarantined off an area of the WAD for deathmatch, if you are so inclined.

Coop not implemented, due to various tricks that wouldn't work in coop.

    Story

After the epic horrors of DOOM and The Beginning of the End parts I and II you are a broken man. Demons haunt your mind and plague your sleep. Unable to cope, you are sent to a UAC medical facility that also happens to double as a radioactive toxic waste treatment plant. Here, along with the few other surviving scarred space marines, you are prescribed cryno-therapy. Your body is placed in suspended animation while your mind is flushed with chemicals and stimulants in order to cleanse the horrors from your psyche.

But something is wrong. As soon as you are put into stasis, you awaken again. Things are different. The building seems deserted and in shambles. No sounds are heard. You step out of your chrinochamber to a familiar smell. The smell of rancid flesh. The smell of death. You draw your pistol, which you never let leave your side no matter what the circumstances. You wonder if this nightmare will ever be over. You get the sense the worst is only beginning.

  22. Computer Mayhem

"Listen up, marine! The eggheads at HQ thought it would be a great idea to give our most advanced AI access to the zombification virus and our new dimensional-tearing teleportation technology. Well, it wasn't.

The computer station is now infested with undead abominations and hellish transmogrifications from God knows where. The place needs to be in top shape for the next inspection, so go there and clean up that mess. We will then send someone to clean up yours."

This is a short level for Ultimate Doom, wich uses the E1M1 slot. The first time I used the most basic Doom settings in Doom Builder. Nothing fancy.

*I tried it in Chocolate Doom, and it works. But there are some visual glitches in some textures. And since very low resolutions make me dizzy, I couldn't try it for more tan 3 minutes. What that means is that it should work in Vanilla Doom.

A fun heavily modified tougher version of Doom 1's E1M6 dated back in April of 94(yes same month of origwad). Its starts a bit hectic but with so many shotgun guys and plenty of health throughout the map, its actually not that hard to go through. However like any 94 wad, it has typical misaligned textures, a few HOMs, and had to use noclip cheat to grab the last card key due to ceiling being too low to pass under. Despite its age and a few minor stuff, its a fun wad from 1994 and I would recommend to give it a try :)

Excellent wad for Hexen fans. It stays true to the style/spirit of the original game while introducing new ideas. The level / hub design is interesting, the combat is well-balanced, texturing is well-done and well-aligned, and there are plenty of interesting scripted events. The wings are used in a very smart way - you're able reach many previously unreachable items and paths. The only thing I disliked was the "boss" of the final level. I won't spoil it, but it's quite disappointing.   Unfortunately there is a bug in The Castle Of Fluft - the flame mask switch is not set to "repeatable", so if you try to use it without the prerequisite mask, you won't be able to use it again when you do. If you encounter this bug, type "puke 10" to activate the script the mask normally would.

This seems like a semi-hidden gem. The author's other WAD Crimson Canyon won a Cacoward, though I prefer this one.   It certainly lives up to its namesake. The textures are all Hell's green marble and blood, supplemented with custom textures including some modified Giger designs and some creepy sprites I recognize from Monolith's Blood. The map designs are seriously contorted. It's probably a divisive aspect of the set. In some levels the angular layouts wrap around themselves in a jagged mesh, creating devilish mazes with slightly obscure progression, and where fireballs can fly at you from different parts of the map. Other parts are darker and more claustrophobic. It's all a totally hostile atmosphere.   There are some common themes gameplay-wise but you'll know them by map 2. A big one is ammo constriction, especially on UV. Certain maps seem near unbeatable without finding key secrets.   This was actually one of the first WADs I completed a few years ago, and on revisiting it it feels very fresh. Like most memorable WADs, it rides on strong concepts and some devilish gameplay while targeting a distinctive theme.

It sure is Bill. This minisode is as singleplayer as singleplayer can be, and its for doom2 despite doom1 map names being used. Guessing it was converted at some point and the textfile wasn't updated. Its still accurate about one thing though: it comes with psounds.wad. They're exquisitely obnoxious. Other than that the levels are decent. The layouts for the first three maps almost look like they were drawn without any grid. All of those vertical and horizontal lines were saved for map04, which looks to be completely made of squares and rectangles.
