  1. Toxic Computing

This is a map I made to try an old school style of detailing. It means that the geometry creates the "beauty".

I modified nothing in the MAPINFO (map name, music, nojump, etc...). Simplicity.

Just a simple linear boss map I made in 3 days, nothing awe-inspiring about it, just plug and play. Inspired by Scythe and 90's wads, low monster count.

  7. Alpha Accident: Terra Nova

I always wanted to make something classic but with a new content. This wad has not only new maps, textures and music but also new things. Also there are new monsters (boss included), and a new (barely) map hazard - voltage... Maps in this episode are quite large and more of an andventure sort than anything else, but there's enough monsters to shoot at.

I hope this will not end being a cliffhanger, because there are lot of things saved for later episodes which I'd like to implement.

  8. Computer Mayhem

"Listen up, marine! The eggheads at HQ thought it would be a great idea to give our most advanced AI access to the zombification virus and our new dimensional-tearing teleportation technology. Well, it wasn't.

The computer station is now infested with undead abominations and hellish transmogrifications from God knows where. The place needs to be in top shape for the next inspection, so go there and clean up that mess. We will then send someone to clean up yours."

This is a short level for Ultimate Doom, wich uses the E1M1 slot. The first time I used the most basic Doom settings in Doom Builder. Nothing fancy.

*I tried it in Chocolate Doom, and it works. But there are some visual glitches in some textures. And since very low resolutions make me dizzy, I couldn't try it for more tan 3 minutes. What that means is that it should work in Vanilla Doom.

A simple map for aim training. It is not so hard, at least if the player use the difficulty "hurt me plenty", eventually the player will use all ammo and will die.

There are enemy waves, and the player should manage to resist to these waves.

The map is called "AIMT" so to warp to the map one should type: "map aimt" in the console.

  20. Chubz Missions (Episode 1)

A multi-level project that replaces the first four missions of the game with my very own classic-style maps designed to look like a set of "lost levels" created by id Software's John Romero and crew way back in 1994.

  21. Stranded on Erebus

A map set replacing all of the DOOM Episode 2 levels, with the exception of E2M2. This WAD is intended as a tribute of sort to "The Shores of Hell", so expect similar textures schemes, gameplay and level design as seen in the original Episode 2 (i.e., don't bother complainin about "1994-style level design").

While ZDOOM is required to play this file I only used a skybox and a few scripts to keep the gameplay as close to that of a vanilla-DOOM level. For any reviewing purposes I'd suggest playing E2M7 or E2M6 and skip E2M1 which is a very simple and underdetailed level. Finally, please note this will be my last contribution to the DOOM community (and I don't expect I'll be missed much...).

  22. Awakening

Utilizing Jump or Crouch will break this level.

Single level for The Ultimate DOOM, E4M1. While this WAD requires ZDoom to run, all effects are created using BOOM-compatible actions.

I have included new monsters on the Ultraviolence setting. I downloaded the new monsters from realm667.com, and have tweaked most to various degrees. My thanks to their creators.

For most of this WAD I stuck to the standard textures, but for one section I decided to throw in a few new ones I created. They are all edits of existing DOOM textures.

I have quarantined off an area of the WAD for deathmatch, if you are so inclined.

Coop not implemented, due to various tricks that wouldn't work in coop.

    Story

After the epic horrors of DOOM and The Beginning of the End parts I and II you are a broken man. Demons haunt your mind and plague your sleep. Unable to cope, you are sent to a UAC medical facility that also happens to double as a radioactive toxic waste treatment plant. Here, along with the few other surviving scarred space marines, you are prescribed cryno-therapy. Your body is placed in suspended animation while your mind is flushed with chemicals and stimulants in order to cleanse the horrors from your psyche.

But something is wrong. As soon as you are put into stasis, you awaken again. Things are different. The building seems deserted and in shambles. No sounds are heard. You step out of your chrinochamber to a familiar smell. The smell of rancid flesh. The smell of death. You draw your pistol, which you never let leave your side no matter what the circumstances. You wonder if this nightmare will ever be over. You get the sense the worst is only beginning.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
