  2. thepits.zip

Here is a compact, intense level that I built use BEU5.0 and BSP11X. It is very violent. Lots of monsters, and lots of weapons to kill them with. There is a small amount of trickiness, but mostly this level will test your basic DOOM skills. There's always another monster around every corner, and don't forget to look behind you.

  6. Seamless 2: A Fake Circle

Seamless 2 is a Vanilla Ultimate Doom map taking slot of E1M2 that makes no use of "use" lines. The theme is "base", there are about 120 monsters and the map takes less than 10 minutes to beat. The keys are MacGuffins. The difficulty is easy, to the point where the difference between HMP and UV is marginal and relies mostly on more health & ammo pickups on HMP. Unfortunately, despite taking slot of E1M2, it cannot be played seamlessly in ZDoom ports with the first Seamless because I have foolishly inserted a MAPINFO there that prohibits it.

  7. Temple.wad

This wad is an original wad created using DOOMCAD 6.1 It took me about two months to complete in my spare time. When creating it I started with a single room and just kept adding stuff until I was satisfied (check out the throne room!). I designed it to be played as both a single player and multi/death-match player wad (difficulty levels 1-2 for death-match). There are several hidden doors, secret rooms, suprises, and many monsters on higher difficulty settings. I put a lot of attention to detail and haven't found any bugs. The single player mode was tested extensively but I didn't have anyone to test multi or deathmatch modes with. There are a couple of spots where, in death-match you can ambush your buddy (a crushing ceiling in the red room, and a hole in the spine hall where you can pop up out of the floor when he steps across a line). This is my first attempt at creating a WAD so please be kind. Enjoy!!! (please tell my what you think!!!) glover@starwell.com

  8. The UAC Base -- Doom 1 version

Communications have ceased coming in from a major UAC military base/supply depot/ refueling center in North America. Also, before this happened, the base's chief administrator filed some classified reports with UAC headquarters. These reports expressed his suspicions that some of the base's staff were practicing occult rituals in a secret area of the basement somewhere. As of this time, no one has been able to find these areas. We're sending you in to find out what's going on and 'clean up' if necessary. We're arming you with a pistol only, since this base is one of the leading UAC military supply depots on the planet, with 3 armories stocked with weapons. If you need offensive weapons, seek the armories.

  9. THE SPACE SHIP

This is a level for E1L1 made like a space ship.

The theme is Aliens, and really needs the alien sound effects and graphics loaded to get the full affect of the level. They can be found on most share point where Doom utils are (alien101.zip includes sounds, graphics and 9 new levels).

The story line is you were called in to exterminate the Aliens onboard a Marine scout ship that was infected from contact with escape pod from a prison barge.

Special note: You can go out into space, in this level, but no one can hear you screem...

  15. The Sludge Factory (SLUDGFAC.WAD)

This is my second WAD. It is set in MegaTox, a toxin factory. The new graphics consist of a polluted, radioactive sky, two new wall textures, a floor texture which bears a striking resemblance to one of the original wall patches, and a subtly (!) altered pallette that adds a green haze which hangs over the factory. I also wrote a new song for this level--don't complain if the timing isn't perfect; the keyboard isn't my main instrument, and I don't have any fancy sequencing equipment. Email me and let me know what you think of this WAD. Try to avoid slipping into the toxic acid! . . . . But you will, eventually . . . .

  16. The Tower

On a strange watery asteroid far far away there is a tower. The population of the asteroid consists of the incorrigible culls of an advanced genetic science. Can you scale the tower and press the auto-destruct switch? Not unless you're good... You will need three keys. The red key is easy to find. The blue key is known to be in the maximum security pen to the south. Rumours have it that the yellow key is hidden in an alien art gallery somewhere on the asteroid.

TheKeep2 is the final update of The-Keep.Wad. The medieval castle has few secrets to give away but playing a deathmatch can be fun. The chaingun appears to be the weapon of choice in this wad. There are two places now to pick it up.

Thekeep2 is a castle with towers, dungeons, and a moat. It has a good deathmatch or single-player layout.

  19. Surprise!

    New Levels for DOOM I

Yes, there is a reason for this slaughter:

You are part of an expedition to explore distant solar-systems with an earthlike condition. Good old earth is pretty rundown, so humanity needs a new place to stay. When your ship took of, the crew put you and five of your collegues into some sort of freezing chamber, so you wouldn't use up all the air, food and water. They were supposed to wake you up once the ship had reached an orbit.

    ...

You wake up, eyes closed. Slowly you begin to remember who and where you are. But you can't move yet. You wait for the medics to take you out of the chamber and give you some shots to make you feel bet- ter. You wait. Nothing happens. No medics. As you begin to feel your body again, you open your eyes and look around. Why is your chamber still closed? You realize that, since you're awake now, you will need a lot more air, than when you were still asleep. Why isn't anybody opening the hatch? Panicstricken you try to open it, but it won't move, it's not supposed to be opened from within. In the end you simply smash your fist trough the glass and crawl out, still naked. You shiver. Noone is in the room, all the other chamber are still closed but you can see from the controllights that the lifesupport has turned it- self of. Hastily you open all of them, but too late, your collegues are dead. Then you hear a sound from outside the room - a sound that is not at all human...

However - you know it all from the movies: Your ship is infested with Aliens and you have to kill them all! Get a gun and do it! You remember there is an armoury somewhere near. You also remember a teleport-chamber. You know you have to go there, beam yourself to the evil alien's planet (E2M2), find a way to the caves below the surface (E2M3) and finally find the switch to blow the damned thing up. Sacrifice yourself to save humanity. And if not for humanity, than for the fun.

  20. The Big Temple

You are entering the big temple of DOOM. This is the second and last version of TEMPLE

After some reviews, I changed some rooms, added some others...

I think it's a good single player WAD. It couls be a good Cooperative WAD ('cause I think it's a little harder than ID levels), but an experimented DM player said me it was too big to make a good DM WAD.

I enjoyer to build it... Hope you'll enjoy play it...

Thanx. (and excuse me for my bad english...)

  21. Twilight.WAD

All original "Made from scratch" level with lots of lifts, triplines, stairs and doors. Designed to be a solo or cooperative level but could be edited into deathmatch without much difficulty. Purposely, dark and confusing. Lots of monsters, lots of ammo, but just enough medical & stim kits to get you through. Goes to the Military Base - Secret Level upon exiting.

  22. Ultima 1

This .WAD file was created based on the Ultima Underworld The Stygian Abyss (Copyright Origin 1992). The level is quite big and my best time for completion is around 22 min. I'm sure with practice you can easily beat that. I've taken the time to implement the difficulty levels so try them all (Ultra-Violence for the full effect!) Hope you have as much fun playing as I did in making/play-testing it. Feel free to manipulate the level in any way you want as long as you give original credit where credit is due (namely to ME!!!). This was my first real attempt at making a Doom level so I'm not really sure if you'll find it as interesting/fun to play as i did. Sometimes the monsters have a mind of their own and will be in a different place each time you play it so don't expect them to be around that same corner each time.

  25. Sewers of DOOM v1.00

It is a little known fact that the moonbase providing the setting for the first DOOM episode (Knee Deep in the Dead) has an extensive waste disposal system. Said waste disposal system went to Hell (pun intended) when the moonbase was invaded, however, leaving sloshing pools of green yuck all over the place. You beat the baddies in the moonbase and wrestled Hell itself to its knees; are you ready for the next challenge? The sewers are clogged with hellspawn, and you've just been named plumber. Guess that cushy desk job will have to wait a wee bit longer...

The moonbase sewer system was designed long after it was built, and has suffered greatly from recent neglect. Emergency doors in some places have all but closed off vital sections, resulting in a tangled maze of tunnels. Power has been mostly restored thanks to the tireless efforts of Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC) engineers, but the computer core is still down. Your mission is simple: kill everything that moves, pick up everything that doesn't, and get out alive.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
