Very challenging for novices not so challenging for veterans however for middle of the road players quite fun and challenging I hated the level with the cyberdemons on E4 so I cheated on that one lol the rest were pretty good

While most Doom I megawads drag on and bore you, this one is very worth the play. Episode 1 is a fantastic opener, not too challenging and stocks you up before the Anomaly. The latter episodes bring the pain. I enjoyed the map layouts, they encourage speedrunning! If you're into Doom I maps, give this pack a shot. Add Complex Doom for more of a struggle.

Somehow, this is a little known mapset, for whatever reason. Because doom1 gives a limited amount of posibilites for a designer, 2002ado, wonderfull doom and this are the only 36 level replacements that matter, and most episodes of 9 levels just emulate ep1 or ep4 style. This one doesn't, it offers new texutures and decent detailing. Nah,nah, nah, don't be afraid to try it, it's ok, it's quality dooming, it doesn't have the pomp of some projects, but it's good! Recommended. 4.

The difficulty is too easy on uv for episodes 1 and 2 at least. Some levels are too complicated when you have to work out what the switches do. Many fights are uninteresting. Having said that, this is a valiant effort that produces 36 quality levels. If you want to go back in time to when Doom 1 was popular then you will enjoy yourself with this, especially if you are not a particularly skilled Doomer. 3 Stars. --- Starburst.

^I reckon that's because it's going to be too easy for most Doomers, but I'm only going to deduct a star for that, because it is still fun to play. Unless you truely must have a challenge to have any fun, get this, because it gets just about everything else right. 4/5

Great megawad! Way to easy even on UV but the levels were fun as hell! E3M2 is probably one of the best looking putdoor hell scenarios I've ever played.

4 stars. Level detail is incredible, but gameplay was way to easy, even on uv. I was really expecting to get mauled by the size of the levels. Most of them don't go over 100 monseters, eek. Great level design though.

For a skilled doomer this is extremely easy. Good level design though. Huge levels, yet small amounts of monsters. You should add more monsters or something, or take out ammo. It was a letdown. But I will give it 2.5/5 if I could... but just will round that to 3/5.

Starts off as unimaginative remakes of the IWAD levels in textures from Quake and probably other places. Admittedly, the lighting and detailing are very good but the gameplay is even easier than the originals and alot of the layouts degenerate into switch-hunts. The original levels included (eg: E3M1) are great, the author should have stuck to his own stuff rather than (poorly) copying what we already know. 3/5

^ The above review sums it up well, although I'd argue the few original levels I've seen weren't that good either (probably for '99, but not by 2009 standards) and the detail wasn't impressive at all. I don't believe in giving points for effort, so only 2/5 from me.

A very nice set, but almost boring due to it being way too easy.

Why isn't this more well known? They were fun to go through and looked pretty good in places, especially in the last two episodes. I'm surprised I never discovered this considering I downloaded so many multi-map replacements in the 90s.

4/5. Along with 2002ado this is the only quality 36 replacement of doom1. The levels here do not follow the original theme though, as it incorporates some nice new textures, but it's still has enough of that doom1 taste to remind you of the original maps. If you prefer doom1 than add another star. -TeH NeXuS

Probably 4.5 stars, good wad but a few letdowns. Design, gameplay, and architecture mostly good, but a few weak maps. However, I'll give it 5 stars so the overall rate doesn't fall from 4.5 to 4.0.

Apart some missing textures (E3M6 and 4 maps for the E4 episode), the whole thing is simply awesome, legendary for a single man megawad! Do use ZenNode v1.2 on it, and you'll have the challenging desired gameplay!!! 5/5 - Jive

All 36 levels replaced, and thay are mostly quite good, some are great. This and 2002ADO are the only DOOM I megawads I really care for, so this is a must have if you never got aroung to buying DOOM II. But it is recommended for everyone! 4/5 stars

One of the classic megawads, and the successor to TNT Evilution. I've played this several times over the years, and its grown on me more with each play as my tastes mature.   Still has a bunch of maps that got me killed in 2024, after ive finished stuff like HR and AV, and plenty of maps are memorable. Only real downsides is some of the levels have little content, showing its age.

One of the earliest Doom user maps and It shows. Despite the raw and empty design, the author take a good use of 3D space creating a small fortress surrounded by mountains, the level Is fun to play and not hard. A fancy escapade and a piece of modding history.

Third and final released map of a WIP episode by David Rager, it's more long, complex and hard than the previous entries in the series. A well made map with pretty challenging parts with a mix of monster usage, envoirnmental hazards and some puzzle gameplay. Fun but pretty harsh.

Two more misplaced DM maps without a exit like QUDOOM (that at least had a exit room, while not functional) that caught me by their file name and leave me for the bad experience in SP. Chicken is just a long bridge between a thundering abyss where cyberdemons wants to destroy you, meh. Gangstar is a more fun map sets in a big, abstract warehouse where a cyberdemon roam free trying to kill you, shotgunners and lost souls are here in this Hell corner adding more pain to the thing, enforced by semi-hidden mazes, my favorite.

This is like the physical version of the "we have X at home" meme in DM map format for Quake E1M1. Very poorly made, broken exit and missing textures here and there but at least the level KINDA resembles the original source somehow.
